I got it on tape. An incredible feat considering VH1's amazing stealth programming technology.

I can't believe Al was lower than the Simpsons. Sorry Simpson's fans. One half hour episode does NOT even begin to compare with Al's catalog.

I will not gripe too much about Spinal Tap. I DO think that Al should have won this hands down, especially since they couldn't decide on just one moment. But I do recognize that ST is perhaps better known by the unwashed masses. I wonder if there would have been a ST if there had not been a WAY?

So my love/hate relationship with VH1 continues...

I'm not so sure about that. Not slamming on Spinal Tap in any way, but I think more of the general public know or "get" Al than they do Tap.

Of course we're all familiar with Tap (which I can only attribute to that unique brainwave that fans of Al, Simpsons, Mad, and MST3K seem to share), and a lot of other rock fans are into them as well, but I wonder how many people out there have never heard of them? I mean, not everyone watches VH1.

Comparatively, I think Al has been on the fringe of the mainstream long enough that he's very well known (a person's opinion of him aside).

I was trying to find some justification for the lunacy of NOT having Al as the number one pick.

I guess there isn't any good reason. Except that the programming chimps are also used to compile these pointless lists.

Seems to me, as was mentioned before, that if there are too many moments from which to pick, then that person should be at the top of the list. Logic? What's that?

Hey guys, the day this aired I was online doing my "1st annual al chat" [PM me for details if you can IM people]

Not too many were on for the countdown but me and one or two people in the chat talked about the show and waited for al till he was on.As i made comments like "see that commercial" or "who on earth would think a southpark osng on chococlate.....stuff is funny???]

It will probably be better next week for a chat.[ifd you want to join in PM me and give me your instant message screen name ]

I enjoyed seeing al but the show was just dumb.NOTHING was funny...maybe ozzbourns and American Idol but I just don`t see how there funny at ALl.Homerpalooza doesn`t seem right for one friggin episode on #2 :hopeing Beat The Geek`s Simpsons geek is reading this :

hopefully next time al is on friday night or saturday morning the chat will be better. That was my 27 cents on the show. Now go on with your lives full of ham and vomit [zim refrence, don`t get it then don`t ask] and al related goodness.Got to do homework.Bye

Well, an interesting side note to the ST theory

Accordion to the audio commentary on the Simpsons season 3 dvds, Fox wasn't too happy about Spinal Tap being the guest on the episode "The Otto Show" because a lot of them weren't sure who they were

And they weren't sure the fans knew who they were either. Fox wasn't too happy about paying those royalties.....

(Geez Fox! One of the members of Spinal Tap is on the Simpsons all the time, dimwits!!)

Harry Shearer does lots of voices on the Simpsons.

I personally have never seen ST, but I guess it is considered a classic by some. It doesn't seem like something I'd find particularly funny, but you never know...

And as much as I love the Simpsons, SD has a good point. One episode? I didn't even realize it...(After the Al segment, an AIH fogged my mind...:inlove:)

So I do think Al deserves #1. But at least he got a nice, juicy, segment.

EEE!
