Well, here we go again (I love cut&paste)...

Look, it's a music video. Just to refresh everyone's memory, here's a definition (from Dictionary.com) of music video.

music video
n.
A filmed or videotaped rendition of a recorded song, often portraying musicians performing the song or including visual images interpreting the lyrics.

Okay, let's break this down into a series of simple Q&A...

Is Bob filmed or videotaped?
Why yes, yes it is, or we wouldn't be having this discussion in the first place.

Is Bob a videotaped rendition of a recorded song?
Yes, because we can find find Bob recorded on Poodle Hat. And, due to the answer to the first question, it is videotaped.

Now we're getting somewhere! Now, does the video version of Bob portray Al (the musician) performing the song and/or include visual images interpreting the lyrics?
Well, unless those signs Al was holding up were really a secret code from the government and NOT the lyrics to Bob and Al was really dressed up as Han Solo and not Bob Dylan, I suppose you would be correct!

If it walks like a dog, barks like a dog, and looks like a dog... IT MUST BE A DOG! In Bob's case, it's a music video.

(I feel like I'm Crow and Tom Servo in that MST3K skit about Noh Theater vs. No Theater)

Eh, that's your opinion, Bobbi!

I like Bob. I like how Al says the word "won" in the song, btw.

Yes indeed. A well-backed opinion, you can't deny that.

I agree with you, TWO. I added one more word to the post you quoted.

I know this is a somewhat old subject ... sorry about that. And I am not even sure if I should ask my question here, or if it has been answered elsewhere. I apologize in advance. But this is one of my favorite songs off of the album (I think it is incredibly clever). I was wondering, though, why Weird Al didn't give special thanks to Bob Dylan on the album cover (he gave special thanks to Frank Zappa, for Genius in France, and just about everyone else)? Does anyone know?
