Are you familiar with area around the theater? (ie tour bus parking) Just wondering what our chances might be of hanging out afterward by the buses. I know Al doesn't mind non-flash photography. Any ideas about the theater's policies?
Obviously, I've never been to this venue.

This is straight off the website...

What is the camera policy?
The camera policy varies for every artist/event. You may contact the theatre on the day of the show for the camera policy.

In the event cameras are ok, please only use approved cameras:

- If the camera fits in your pocket it is most likely ok.

- Professional cameras are not permitted. Cameras of all sizes with a removable lens are considered professional and are not permitted.

- Please check with security and/or ticket taker for approval.

The Celebrity Theatre is not responsible for the loss/damage to personal belongings.
-----------------------------------------------------
As far as I know for the tour bus the parking lot surrounds the venue and they gate off a small section on the side for the tour buses.

Thanks for checking.
By any chance were you able to attend last year's Al Fest in Costa Mesa? My friend John and I were able to go. It would be great to meet more AZ fans.

Slightly off topic, but many kudos to Al and the boys for not falling into the fray. Not every resident in AZ appreciates what dear OLD Jan, John and the state senate have done to AZ. They do not have the best interests of everyone at heart just the old, wealthy Republicans (all of which I am not). I'm glad that Al, if he even took the issue into consideration, chose his fans over politics.
Personally I'm completely for a "Brewer Stompin' Day"! We could start by spreading some McCain on the lawn. :boot:

Sadly no :(
It stinks there is only 2 AZ WOWAYers.
Where are your seats?
I lucked out and was first at the box office and got Section A-10 Row 1 Seats 1, 2, and 3 :P

I purchased a couple of VIP packages online since they are meant as a birthday gift for John. I haven't received the packets yet; they are supposed to be received a week before the show, so I'm pacing the floor now. I'll be extremely bummed if they aren't front row since I bought them the week before they went on sale at the box office. I guess I'll help pay for a diamond studded swimming pool at the very least. :F

Do you have any plans to try to collect a set of the trading cards?

Now that you mention it, yeah.
Are you and John doing anything before the show? Maybe we can do dinner or something?

We are both working a half day, but other than the drive up from Tucson we don't have plans. I'm not sure how early we'll arrive. We are a bit nutty and tend to hover around the venues when possible, but I will ask John what he thinks his schedule might be like. I doubt that we'll get up there before 3:00.

(When Al and the boys last played at the Dodge Theater, we made loops around the building watching the activity and the comings & goings behind the theater. John was able to start getting his spare AZ license plate "WeirdAl" autographed by the band that night. He now has everyone's autograph on it.)

I like and dread the trading card collecting. I get obsessed over it. It started with Star Trek sets. I was able to kick the habit after completing both sets of The Lion King cards including all of the special and foil cards. A crazy amount of money went into that since I didn't know of anyone to "trade" with. Hopefully Al's won't be as difficult. (BTW if you know of anyone that needs a free set(s) of LK cards, just let me know!)
