I think the computer is able to figure it out. There have been a few shows this year where they could only use one video screen (size of the stage etc). And each time it would letterbox it when it was appropriate. I can't imagine someone having to do it manually.Kristine wrote: Either the computer is intelligent enough to know what we need to see, or someone was smart enough to make an emergency one-screen version of the show.

Great mini-review, Kristine! That was probably one of the best LMBYH intros of the whole tour...Franks and YDLMA is also my favorite combo of songs this tour and I'm glad those songs seemed to coincide nicely with the malfunctioning screens...I'm glad he found a way to pull off Franks live (with a prerecorded mandolin track, apparently) and although it is almost getting the same treatment it did on the Alapalooza tour, I'm glad I got to see it live as well...Al also had flawless vocals when he preformed in Denver last month...but for some reason, his voice was a little higher than I was expecting (maybe his voice is just a little higher in person or it was the altitude) but I guess I should see him live a bit more to accurately judge that...sorry for rambling...you sound like you had a great weekend...my dad was also an Al concert virgin when he went with me...he was quite impressed with the band's level of talent and professionalism from the length of time they've been playing together...how did your new beau react to seeing them for the first time?

It's not that his voice is higher- the songs are in the same key they're recorded in (with the exception of Why, which isn't in the set this year anyway). What you're hearing is his tonality or vocal quality- he's just singing in more head voice and more nasal/horizontal that on the recordings. Using less chest is a "cheat" that makes it easier to sing for two hours straight without getting too winded. Instead of taking in large, "proper" breaths, he'll let the microphone do more of the work and take smaller breaths. Go listen back to older albums, before he started recording with a richer/deeper quality... the tonality is pretty much the same.

Ah, thank you Kristine for clearing that up with a thorough explanation...it totally makes sense now...since you seem to be an expert on the subject, I think we'd love to hear you sing sometime...
