Hmm, I've always wanted to see Al in a standing room type venue. I can certainly say I am strongly considering attending this show. I'm waiting to hear if girlfriend wants to join or not (would be her first Weird Al concert), but I would probably go without her if not.

Jon, now that I've been racking my brain a little more, I seem to remember there being seats down on the floor, like maybe about 15 rows, and that was the VIP section, and then the rest of the floor was standing room, and a bar. If it makes a difference to you, you might want to call the theatre to see how they're going to handle it this time.
Helen, does that sound right? I'm pretty sure I'm remembering waving at Cid and Kevin from the balcony, and they were in seats.

Cool, I just called the venue and they confirmed the VIP section is seating for the first so many rows, then behind that is standing room only general admission, and then of course the balcony beyond that. I will probably opt for VIPs in that case, but it depends on who I would be going with. Waiting to hear back from a few people but hopefully I will get tix this week.

I just got tickets to this and I'll be going with my girlfriend who has never seen Al live before. Splurged for the VIP seats (despite mbeachy's warning) so as to get better view. I hope these tickets really are getting me something above and beyond general admission since the guy told me as much when I called the venue...
Anyway, very pumped to see Al again! This will be my first time ever seeing Al twice in one calendar year.

Aww, that's great that Anjuli has finally relented and will see an Al show!
I'm reasonably sure she'll like it! Nice of you to get the good seats for her.

All I can hope for is to engineer a scenario where Al serenades her during Wanna B Ur Lovr.

Left a message at Paid, Inc as it is after 5 PM in Massachusetts [or maybe the phone there magically determined that I'm a Lakers fan?
Greg and I did a GA standing show in March in San Francisco [a birthday concert featuring the now-70-year-old Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead]. While admittedly the concert was 6 hours long [not to mention that the auditorium had about 9000 of Phil's closest friends in a space approved for 7000], Greg and I were both in agony by the end of the show from all the standing.
Cheers, Diva
I love the Spaniard, too

I have been to literally dozens of standing room only shows over the years, maybe of which have been all-day events going from noon to midnight. I am all too aware of the discomfort. Luckily I will get the best of both worlds - closest to the stage AND seating. If this does turn out to be the case it is worth the extra $10/ticket.

We got the tickets just in time because the presale appears to be over.
