If it was Portland or Salem I'd go, but Redmond's too far. Hopefully he'll also come somewhere closer.

I'm considering this one. Jet Blue flies from Long Beach to Portland. I went to the Redmond show back in 2000 and it was a fun spontaneous trip. I especially like it that we are not being milked to pay extra for 'special' seats in a pre-pre sale.
Only potential block to this is that I might be starting to pay a mortgage insead of rent by the end of July.

This seems to be a club-appreciation concert. Meaning, apparently, that you have to get tickets, in person, from a local radio station when they're doing a remote broadcast. If you have friends in Bend, Oregon, do what you have to get them beholden to you!

Seems like you go to the fair that day--enjoying the rides etc then you go and watch the concert....

Yes! I am going to the Deschutes County Fair to see Al! Mostly because we're in the area then. It's closer to see him in Portland, OR--but thought this might be a fun venue. If anyone has been to this fair--please fill me in on details. I do know there is NO reserved seating.

A couple of my friends from high school were there. He thought it was "too rappy" (obviously he hasn't followed Al's last few albums.) She had a great time. Loved the Fat song, and just generally thought it was a great show. I knew there was a reason I like her better!
