I agree with everything Diva said. I think that when Al's "on the clock" he's fair game. And to my mind that includes to a limited degree when he's out doing the celeb thing: going to movie openings, charity events. In that light, when Suzanne is there as Mrs. Weird Al, she is also fair game for (respectful) discussion.

But when they are out and about as just the family, going to dinner, buying broccolli... then they should have their privacy. I think a calm "hi" is probably appropriate (Al said in one of his Ask Al's that nice people are never an inconvenience.)

But Nina is off limits (and will remain so on this board) until Al and Suzanne say otherwise. So if you happen across pics of her online (other than what the Yankovics choose to share) please don't share them here. If you're at a show and she's there, as a fan, I'd ask you to just enjoy the moment and not snap any pics.

And all of the above goes for the rest of TBITB and their families.

I think al's private life is his buisness, but if I saw him, I'd walk past and maybe sing one of his songs and see what happens. I'm too shy to ask him anything unless he said hi first.

You're gonna deprive the young ladies of pics of Steve's sons? Who are, after all, adults?

Cruel. :stern:

FWIW, also, Jim's wife is an actress. That still doesn't mean she should be stalked while shopping for broccoli.

(broccoli stalking.... I slay myself sometimes!)

I know you were cracking wise, but on a serious note... Suzanne is also an adult. So that doesn't make it ok. But if you see Miles on stage it's ok with me if you want to take a pic or two. What does his other son do?

Or is that off limits to ask, since we're talking about privacy here?

Video/movies (Steve had a video he did about their ranch up on his MySpace for a while, but it's down now) and he also played with Miles and a friend or two at the Knitting Factory, so maybe he's getting into music more too.

What Miles, Ian and Diana all have in common with Al, but not with Suzanne, is that they have, or are seeking, the kind of careers where being known is an advantage. So mentioning them when they're out in public seems pretty okay to me, as long as it's polite, mindful of safety isssues, and non-crazed.

Honestly, if I ever saw him in public, I'd probably just collapse. >O>

I'm known to do that at the worst times. Like on the staircase in my house, for instance. -thud- Or on the bars in the weight room at school. -thud-

About this, I do not know what Greg was thinking when he posted "Drooling Over Suzanne"

He was most likely thinking

"My verticle signature isn't enough. How can I annoy these people further?"

Got it.

See Al at the supermarket, say, "Hi."

See Al signing autographs after a concert, say, "I played "Eat It" backwards, and I know we're all gonna EAT IT when the snakes rise up! I'M YOUR BIGGEST FAN, WEIRD AL! WEIRD AL RULES!!!"
