Actually that is a good point, so would I. Jon's an awesome drummer and they are all awesome musicians, a slightly different format could showcase their individual talents and take some of the heat off Al for a short time

Waaaaiiiittttt....

I really don't know what I'm talking about, but lemme just bring this up.

During Albuquerque, Al pretty much does whatever he wants (repeating the song "OH I forgot where I was...." extending the donuts scene... stuff like that) I've actually asked the band members about it, and they said that Al pretty much does whatever the heck he wants, and they follow along... sOOo my point is, the video machine must be remote controlled (probably not by Al, but by somebody) If it wasn't how would the "Albuquerque" video appear at exactly the right time during a song where the length varies?

THEREFORE Al could talk to his audience more, do more improv., more drum solos, whatever, and STILL keep the costume changes because all he needs is some guy with a remote control operating the video machine!

I'm probably totally wrong, but I thought I might bring that up.
Oh snap!

That's a good point. I loved the Albuquerque performances from the SOL tour. I'm not sure at all who controls the video.

Obvious follow-up to this:

What would your ideal setlist be if he were to do a stripped down show? And try to be reasonable (something he would actually do).

More originals.

Who here wouldn't want to hear "Dare To Be Stupid" even if the guys weren't encased in yellow rubber?

I say, put 'em all on stage in black jeans and black t shirts and let 'em rip! (I am speaking of music and not textiles, you understand... we don't need any wardrobe malfunctions to keep things interesting)

I'm willing to let Steve keep his cowboy hat too.

Or is that his llamawrangler hat?
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

 at Joshua.

Yeah, I see a lot of flaws in that set list, waf10000. One being that there are never any originals in the medley. Another, I doubt Al will include a polka that isn't the most recent one. And also there are a handful of songs on that list that Al doesn't perform live (EYKIW, GOD).

Realistically a stripped down set would probably have mostly the hit songs and perhaps a few other songs added in for good measure..

For me, I don't have a set list really but I think at this point it would be cool to have an "old school" medley and a "new" medley since there is a 30 year career of songs to take from..

Oh, Jan27bday, I grew up in Lubbock!
