Well maybe If I'm lucky I can grab a folding chair near the front row!!! Sorry to hear all the negative comments about the venue, but I can't pass this up. It's too close to where I live, and I can't attend the August 12th date. Hopefully, ticket information will be posted here when available (I can't find any yet.)
Count me in!
(Hoping For A Meet & Greet)

Maybe I will change my mind about this one then. I was gonna switch off going to Holmdel for this one, maybe I'll keep my original plan.

Hey, that was my girlfriend and I sitting next to you! It was nice to meet you that night seven years ago!! Where has time gone? This was also the show where Al dropped his mic off the stage during Gump and my lady jumped up and gave it back to him. He didn't miss a beat though.
For all of those concerned about the venue, the old Convention Hall Al has played at in the past is gone and a new one was built in 2002. It's a lot bigger and obviously more modern. I haven't been there but they have much bigger events there, and it's more like an arena apparently....

Ok I think This is the seating chart. There appears to be a lot of different configurations, this one is marked "Summer Concert."
Wow, a basketball court. Guess that furthers supports my high school gym theory.

Oh cool. That makes me feel a bit better for the people going.

Hey, yeah, go. It's still an Al show, so you know he's gonna put on the best show out there. And hopefully the new venue addressed a lot of my concerns. I'm seeing a ton of shows, so I can be picky on where I choose to see him. Good luck on the tickets!
Wildwood was also the first concert I've seen where the full band wasn't there. Jim was out for some reason and Brian Otto (who later went on to do some stuff for
The Weird Al Show) was filling in on guitar. And I ran into Bermuda on the boardwalk!

Dave, when did you see him at wildwood? I remember when I saw him at the (apparently) old venue, during the BHD tour, I say Steve Jay wandering around on the boardwalk. Killer is at the time I thought it was a guy with the band (hey, this is 96, before you could find anything on the internet), but wasn't sure.

So it appears to be a new venue, hopefully it is better than the previous one! At least I have hope now!

Here's a link to the "new" venue: Convention Center
It's big compared to the last place he played there. If you look through the pictures you can see how the venue is set up for concerts, and it looks like it holds at least 5,000 for concerts. The place is almost empty for a Live concert there last summer. That's pretty big to say the least.
Oh, and for the one concert that's already on sale, ticket prices are pretty steep but they include a one day pass to the amusement piers and waterparks on the boardwalk. Not sure if that will be the same for Al.

Tickets go on sale on Saturday (26th) at 1 o'clock for 25-45$. I'm assuming 45$ for the center sections, and 25$ for the outer bleachers. Hopefully I get as good of seats as I did last concert. Now to camp-out on the Ticketmaster page!
