He who's tired of Weird Al is tired of life.

Um.....I think Al would catch on if a whole entourage was following him around. :)

Well, yeah, and we don't REALLY want to stalk Al.

But he might enjoy leading a parade, dontcha think? He could wave at the multitudes from a Plymouth Belvedere tastefully decorated with Oreos and red snappers.

Followed, of course, by a kazoo band comprised of female admirers. I suggest we play "Melanie."

BTW, I couldn't think of one when I was imagining car decorations... is there a flower of any kind mentioned in any of Al's songs?

Off the top of my head I can't think of any...

He's just not a flowery sort of guy. Except of course for the hawaiian shirts. Perhaps we should festoon the Belvedere (I prefer a Nash Metropolitan) with some of Al's most tasteful shirts...

There's an idea. Maybe Suzanne could help pick 'em out... using the same criterion as was used for the shirts at the WAY Experience, that is, "too 80's ugly to stay in the house."

Which makes me wonder: since presumably all that other memorabilia (yearbook, etc.) went back to wherever it lived before, what happened to the shirts, since they were apparently traveling on a one-WAY ticket?

Can you say "Auction at the next AL-con?"

<Scottidog wonders how the benefitting charities are chosen. She would like to suggest the Pediatric Aids Foundation started by the late wife (Elizabeth) of her other favorite famous type person: Paul Michael Glaser. Oooooooo WAY and PMG together. Talk about sensory overload!>

Man, I'd be offended if one of the shirts I gave him ended up in that display...

I have no idea how the AlCon charity was chosen (though I'm sure there are people on this forum who do know) but at the Dr. Who convention I attend (and boggle at) each February, the charity is chosen by the celebrity guest of honor (often one of the actors who played Dr. Who for the BBC).

But those are obviously second-rate auctions. I've NEVER seen a wisdom tooth offered there.

I got the impression from the newspaper article I read that it was Suzanne doing the ugliness rating. But I've also read that Al labels gifts with the names of the givers, and considering how he values friendships, I can't imagine he'd be likely to give the heave-ho to a shirt from someone he actually knows, no matter what his wife thought of it. But there are all those shirts he got by contractual stipulation on one of his tours... THOSE ought to be fair game. I daresay the concert promoters were not trying nearly as hard as you were to find a shirt that Al would actually enjoy.

Since he keeps all fan letters, I can't imagine that he doesn't keep fan gifts forever. Man, I hope mom and dad have a huge garage!

It would be WAY cool to get to see some of the fan produced items. There is a memory AL-bum made up by some online fans (sorry, I can't remember who) that was presented to Al on his 40th. There are a few pages that you can view on the webpage, but I bet the whole AL-bum would be fun to see.

Just like Al, his fans are a creative bunch!

I think it would be great if they had a traveling version of the WAY experience going around with the tour. OE and I have already volunteered to go along and set it up!
