I honestly don't think Family Guy is a knock-off of the Simpsons. In fact, it's more like the Clerks cartoon that played for a while back in....I don't know when. But I've read before that Al actually likes the humor in shows like South Park, which is a lot more lewd than 12 Family Guys put together.

He just doesn't prefer to use that humor in his music. I could see Al making an appearance one day in Family guy.

Yep, it's not a Simpsons rip off....it's a BLATANT Critic rip off passing as a Simpsons clone.
Anyway, if anything, Family Guy would trash Al. It's not the kind of humor that'd be accepting of Al (Even if Al watches the show), and when they do trash Al, everyone will be so shocked....how can a show that treats everyone like crap treat Al like crap?

Yeah, thats why i said "Family Guy just isn't that kind of cartoon show Al would wanna be on." Just not Al's kind of humor.

I almost expected an Al referance on that one episode where meg got the makeover and the griffins started a band... Y'know, the generic 'They're famous so Weird Al Yankovic parodied them' sort of thing.
(I misspelled both on purpose, btw)

dingo has it exactly right. FG occasionally pulls in a celebrity guest star, but most of the time, they're just delivering mean-spirited jokes about celebrities. It's not Al's kind of show.

South Park also has more than its share of mean-spirited jokes aimed at celebrities, and Al apparently has no problem with them, so I'm not sure if that can be used as a reason for it to not be his "kind of show".

I think by 'His kind of show' they mean the sort of show Al would go in, not the sort of show he would watch. I don't beleive Al's ever been in south park either.

No, he hasn't, but I'd never say never.
He had his cameos in the Naked Gun series of movies, which had its fair share of crude humor.
Honestly, I don't see it happening either -- I just don't see it being a circumstance where Al would turn his nose up at the show.

But he's also friends with Trey and Matt, so it's not like Al would ever be upset if he were ripped on South Park (Not that he's ever been really upset when any show rips him....hey, look at his concerts), and he probably would be the same if Family Guy ripped him. But he's not friends with Seth, as far as we know, and it doesn't really make sense to assume that Seth likes Al just because they're both in the biz. Because guess what? More than likely he doesn't.
And while Al won't care if he's ripped, the fans will.
