Cool. Go download yourself VirtualDub which will recompress the files for you, if you know what you're doing.

Trying to open the files:

Couldn't locate compressor for format 'dvsd' (unknown)

VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatable codec to decompress the video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable.

:(

Go and download http://www.mainconcept.com/archive/mcdv204.exe or if you're into kind of risky downloads, get Tsunami FilterPack 3.9.6 (Google it yourself, I can't find it anywhere) and install that.

I understand what you're getting at, but really, Al or MuchMusic did not "give it away," and even if either of them somehow did then that still wouldn't give any of us the right to do the same since one of them would still own the rights to the program.

Don't get me wrong, folks. I'm all for fan trading on rare, unreleased things, but let's not sugarcoat this. It's still bootlegging. Just because something has not been released on home video doesn't mean it's in the public domain.

I agree. And so I'm closing this topic. If y'all want to do this somewhere else, I can't stop you. But you're not doing it here.

I was asked to bring this topic back, and so I did. But if there's further discussion of file trading it will be closed again. Any discussion about file trading needs to go to somewhere else.

So, ryan... you want to tell us again what your topic is? I'm not sure I understand why we even need this topic since we have a song by song discussion going on...
