I think it's probably gonna be Rocky Road. Just based on the picture - if I remember the songs correctly it's the only one that would require all the guys together singing an Oh.

Though I wouldn't say no to a properly produced version of Another One Rides The Bus.

That's a pretty good deduction. I figured the harmonies had something to do with an "oooh" sound, but the harmonies from the first album escape me.

Stop Draggin' My Car Around has an "oh" background harmony but it sounds more like the kind of thing that Al would probably just use multiple tracks of himself for as it's mostly falsetto.

My Bologna has a few woos in it but it doesn't look like they're doing anything like that.

Check's In The Mail also has some "ooh" background harmony but again sounds like it's just multiple Als.

Happy Birthday has all the guys singing "happy birthday to you", and although "you" is technically an "ooh" sound, with the way they pronounce it it almost sounds like "oh" so it might just fit this picture too. (I'm convinced they're singing "oh" in this picture - the rest of the band isn't too clear but Al's mouth is too far open for him to be singing "ooh".)

The rest don't really have anything that sounds like what they're doing in the picture, plus I'm discounting at least Ricky and Buckingham Blues just based on subject matter.

So, in conclusion, Rocky Road and Happy Birthday appear to be the only possibilities, and with Rocky Road being the parody, my money would be on that one.

Of course I could be horribly wrong, if it turns out he's rearranged whatever song they're doing then all of this is invalid.

...Guys I think I may be a nerd :online:

If it's not Another One Rides The Bus, I'll banish myself from the forum for a year

Okay, everybody you can stop guessing.
I've got it all figured out......
Al has complained on numerous interviews how he regretted that he never did another take on My Bologna because he cringes at how fast it is.

So, here's my conclusion.....
He's finally getting a chance to redo it SLOWER for the Dr Demento film.
There are a number of chances in the parts where they all sing to make the OH mouth.

You're welcome. :accordion:

I honestly thought that maybe it was a full version of the acoustic "I Love Rocky Road", just because it has a four part harmony in it.

but isn't it too late for a movie that's already putting out trailers?
Not really. Music for a movie in general is usually one of the last things done. A lot of the time the score is being written up until the last minute, due to all the edits being made.

Jim posted several different batches of film set pictures on Facebook (Al is with him in one of them) and so did Steve and Bermuda, so the speculation continues! Doesn't look like the song was recorded for Sausage Party, but it looks like Al and the guys will be in a live action film! They're dressed like they could be a wedding band?? Or maybe it's just an actual garden party. What rich person would throw a garden party and have Weird Al as the band?

Real talk tho, if Al and the guys were my wedding band ugh, dream come true. Hashtag person with folded hands emoji hashtag person raising both hands in celebration emoji.

So, which song would be the best one for a garden party?

1. "Ricky" (No Tress MacNeille)
2. "Gotta Boogie" (Probably not an original, or at least not this one)
3. "I Love Rocky Road"
4. "Buckingham Blues" (Too dated)
5. "Happy Birthday"
6. "Stop Draggin' My Car Around" (Doubtful)
7. "My Bologna"
8. "The Check's In The Mail" (Not really a garden party song)
9. "Another One Rides The Bus"
10. "I'll Be Mellow When I'm Dead" (This would be AWESOME)
11. "Such A Groovy Guy" (Possible?????)
12. "Mr. Frump In The Iron Lung" (Naaaahhh)

 Oh I know. And I'm not bothered by it. I just felt myself super nerdy for a moment after posting such an extensive analysis. :D

I don't think this new information about the garden party will change my guess, though. We don't know for sure that it's actually related, and even if it is, Rocky Road is a fun song that could very well be played at a party. Of course, it depends on what kind of party you're throwing, but I would imagine any party where you would have Weird Al as the band would not be the kind of party that would require light classical music.
