What Al did with the scat part of "Zoot Suit Riot" ended any doubts I ever had about his ability to handle unusual lyrical situations in parody targets.

If it were a GoT parody, I'd want the line to be "Hodor! Hodor! H-O-D-O-R!"Bruce the Duck wrote:The way the line goes in the song, a five letter word can actually easily take the place of the I-G-G-Y without sounded clunky or forced.

If he managed to spell 7 different words that all pertained to one subject, he'd destroy every parody that's already out there.

Well due to thinking of other famous things that spell out letters I thought the ending could be "Who dat? Who Dat? M-I-C-K-E-Y", and the song would be called "Disney", but that's probably quite unlikely.

Another thing is that it doesn't have to be 4 letters anyway - in Iggy's song itself, the I is repeated so it actually sound like "I-I, G-G-Y." There are options and I'm sure Al chose the best ones!

Re: Fancy Parody - Song Thread
The thing is... she isn't spelling out the name of the song (Fancy), she's spelling a different word altogether (Iggy). So why would the title of the parody be what is spelled out instead of I G G Y anyway? It's almost definitely going to be some other thing relating to the topic of the parody.CharlesNelson wrote:I'd like the spelling section to stay in the lyrics but it doesn't have to spell whatever the title is. For instance, my favorite idea we've had so far is "Manly," which isn't 4 letters.

It doesn't even have to have the spelling... if it was a food song, it could be something like
Donut?Donut?
Fry, Baby, Fry
Yeah, it's awful

This was the point I was trying to make. You made it much better than I did. I should have just used terrible lyrics.WesY2K wrote:It doesn't even have to have the spelling... if it was a food song, it could be something like

Re: Fancy Parody - Song Thread
I'm beginning to wonder... Al's done parody songs about movies before.
Yoda = Lola
Jurassic Park = MacArthur Park
Gump = Lump
But only if they're considered to be popular and modern-day classics.
There's speculation about "Let It Go" floating around. Frozen has made A BILLION dollars, so it's safe to assume everyone knows about it and it's destined to become a classic.
"Fancy" "Frozen"
Does he really need permission from filmmakers too?

Most likely. If he needed George Lucas' permission for Yoda, then he'll need Disney to give the OK for a Frozen related parody.tomatochives wrote:Does he really need permission from filmmakers too?
