Just got a single ticket. Greg won't make this trip this time. I'm hoping that he can get around well enough to go to Del Mar. Vegas baby!
Cheers, Diva
gonna make at least two shows this year, so much has changed since my wild tour chasing days

I haven't finalized my travel plans yet, but given that (1) the show is on a Saturday, (2) I will have Thursday and Friday off and (3) I won't be doing the fair shows in the Bay Area ( just Del Mar on the first), I may go a day or two early. I've only ever gone to Vegas to see Al perform (or to stop for gas on my moves to and from Colorado in the nineties). I 'm not into gambling but seeing a couple of other shows there could be fun. It's tempting to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel just because they have the coolest swimming pool complex I've ever seen.
Of course, that pool at the Hard Rock is where I spent waaaaay too much time in the sun and heat in 2000. I ended up sick as a dog and was barfing almost up to show time. Got through Al's show OK then barfed again after it was over.

Pledging to be more cautious this time

I finally got my ticket for this show today. I was freaking out because it's so close! Waiting paid off, I'm dead center in the front row.

Booked a room at the Golden Nugget, which is within walking distance of the Smith Center unless the temps are outrageous. It being Vegas in July, the temps will be outrageous. However, that casino has two really cool-looking swimming pools and a full-service spa; since I don't gamble I can do something like this instead. Decent price through hotels.com FYI.
Cheers, Diva
Vegas, baby!

The Gold Nugget has the best pool in Vegas, IMHO--it has a waterslide that has a tunnel through a freaking shark tank IN the pool. Dave and I may just crash that party.
We ended up getting a room on th strip for under $100 for the weekend. Guess no one like the sidewalk melting temps of Vegas in July.
And anyone else want to go hit the Goretorium late Saturday (like after show) or Sunday night? I'm going anyway, and the staff there acts freaked if you go it alone.

My mom was going to join me at the Paso Robles show. Since that's cancelled she will join me in Vegas! It'll be her third Weird Al concert
