The MPAA is very weird. They give movies ratings they don't deserve.
Yes, Spaceballs should have been a PG-13. The MPAA probably only made it PG because it was a parody of something kids like. Also, look at "Ice Age." That did not deserve PG. More like...G!

I know, but their scoring guide for rating the movie wasn't as strict. Like now if it says b*tch its PG-13. If it says crap it goes from a G movie to a PG movie.
But back in the 80s and such they would have to have sex selling drugs and cussing everyother word in order to make it a PG-13 movie. But in 2004 if that was in a new movie that would be a R movie.
