Is AL-TV returning or did you find a nice interview? Just tell the folks here.

By the way, that hotel room scene is extremely familiar, especially the sumo wrestler shooting grapes out of his belly button and Al complaining about the lack of a creamy center in his tofu sculpture of Pat Sajak's head. Do they play it during costume changes at concerts?
Yes. It is played immediately before Smells Like Nirvana

Any idea why this never got a DVD release? Just forgotten, or does it have more to do with Disney's involvement? (Disney is notoriously bad at giving home video releases to its television properties)

It's a Disney special with the performances owned by Sony. There's no profit incentive for this to ever see home release.

I guess. That's why shows like Saturday Night Live and All That are insanely difficult to release uncut home videos of: musical performances.

Exactly. Beavis and Butthead has the same problem, which was released without the music videos (the whole point of the show). It took decades to release The Wonder Years, a show that people have been clamoring for a home copy of since its initial release in the 80s. It took until a couple years ago to clear all the music.
