I only initially got (tentatively) excited when I saw the spoiler tag, but the instant I read the first track title I knew it was a gag.

Do they turn a profit?
Sound quality, hipsterism, and the novelty value of having the album on vinyl are the reasons it's getting released on this format. I can't wait to pick one up! I have every Weird Al album that exists on vinyl except UHF. Now all I need is a record player!

It's a lot like obtaining information, only the information is usually more of a fallacy.

Sound quality is often the reason cited by people who prefer to buy and listen to vinyl. Have you noticed that CDs are getting increasingly louder and harder to listen to over the past 20 years? The digital downloads are generally mastered from the same source as the CDs, but the vinyl mastering is often done with extra care for preserving dynamics.

That said, the vinyl format will probably not enhance Mandatory Fun at all - I'm guessing it will be a single LP, like Alpocalypse, but if there are two "extra" long songs on this album in addition to 10 regular length ones, it's likely this album will exceed 45 minutes, which is the absolute most you should try to press onto a single LP before the sound quality starts to suffer. Alpocalypse on vinyl sounds good, not great, but it's a digital recording from the start. I do actually prefer it to the CD, where I can hear clipping on some of the vocals.

I don't have a record player but there is something awesome about being able to buy a brand-new Weird Al vinyl. Plus, the Alpocalypse vinyl is way cheaper than most new vinyl titles--I think I got mine for like $13.99. Compare that to the just-released 2-LP reissue of Soundgarden's Superunknown, which is going for about $50.

Also, fun fact, MF is currently #27 in music at Amazon.ca.

The thing that clued me into drewdy's tracklist being fake was the fact that there was already a "Roar" parody called "Thor" on YouTube that was made by VenetianPrincess (which I'm not even going to bother linking to here). Thank god it was fake or else that would've been the single most disappointing tracklist ever produced.

Good to hear MF is getting a vinyl release. I wonder what motivated Al and his label to release another new album on vinyl? Was it "by popular demand" again or was it because the Alpocalypse vinyl sold so well?

The gullibility of some people on this forum astounds me sometimes.

On a totally unrelated note, I found a totally not fake tracklist. Check it out:
Spoiler:
1. Fanny (Pack)
2. Instant Reality
3. Green Franken Jazeera
4. Polka Gangnam Style
5. The Bed Bugs Bite
6. Massachussets Gets Abusive
7. Maybe!
8. Hold Your Horse's Hat
9. Blue Organ
10. Nowhere To Be Found
11. Things In My Room
12. Crazy Cow Therapist

Holy crap, some of those songs are the ones that got cut from Poodle Hat's original track list!
I NEVER thought we'd be seeing THOSE songs finally being used! Great digging MT!
