I don't know how your teacher could say that unless by "the regular stuff he always does" he just meant "funny music." Al did an extreme rarity, another old song that apparently hasn't been done in concert since sometime before 1983, and a brand-new one that he's only been doing since this past June. Not by any means a "same ol', same ol'" set list. 8)
i don't know, i guess my teacher was mistaken greatly. i didn't believe him when he said it. not to say my teacher was lying but...that was a special type of concert. of course my teacher isn't a weird al fan so he thinks it's normal when all of us are overwhelming by the rarity of it. if i see him again, i'll try to get him to explain more in depth. after reading what some of you said what al did there, i am a little more curious. al not singing something in concert since 1983 doesn't sound like it was normal. so i will try to speak to my teacher and let him know he was lucky enough to see some special al stuff. thanks for correcting him.

Do you think Al's adding If I Could Make Love To A Bottle and Mr. Frump In The Iron Lung to setlists for the second leg? I hope so. I would love to hear them.

And maybe he'll start using the new WBUL costume too...

Alright guys. I'm new to this forum, so hello. I went to the Alice Cooper's Christmas pudding concert. It was awesome. My Bro. and I got comp tickets because our sis was in the show (metropolitan opera finalists). About half way through the show, she came out during Billybob Thornton's showing, gave us backstage passes, and took us back there. Ok, best part. We went into the green room (passing REO Speedwagon, Roger Clyne and the members of Journey), and there, on the floor, Al's accordian case! Holy Christ! the most amazing thing EVER!
Next, we went on the stages left wing. There, standing 5 ft. in front of us was the man himself, in the black shiny shirt, accordian around his neck! Billybob finished his bit, and Al was announced on stage. During WBUL, I got Alice's autograph on my guitar (awesome!). At the end of WBUL, Al was dragged off stage (right wing). It was great. So we went back into the green room. Weird Al Yankovic himself was enjoying a piece of brownie. So my bro and Al talked for a minute or two, and we got our picture with him! I can't post it though, no permission. But it was great! Turns out Al was practicing his end of show solo just minutes before we went backstage (must have not practiced anything?). What a genious (in France). Ok, so there is the best story posted yet. Totally free for me, too. Alrighty!

Why don't you have permission to post your picture? That's great that you got to meet Al! Thanks for sharing your story, and welcome to the Forum.

4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Wow iisryan that's got to be your longest post! :P

CD has some of the longest posts for EACH AND EVERY post! Mine are most of the time inbetween long and short. So medium sized posts. :D

Welcome, Sheabert! How cool you got to meet Al backstage! And, BTW, I'm sure that Scottidog and Elvis would join with me in awarding you extra Backstage Brownie Points for introducing yourself to us in a pre-existing topic. :P
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.
