Weird Al Survivor IX - Chitchat Thread
Yeah if the games started with people sitting out it should stay that way

Re: Weird Al Survivor IX - Chitchat Thread
The problem is, is that unless there's a clear advantage/disadvantage that not sitting out causes, then there's no real way to enforce an arbitrary sit-out. There's no way to say that someone didn't send messages in private to give their input in.
So unless there's something (like the first challenge) where there HAS to be someone sat out, there really is no reason to do so.
Just my 2-cents.

Tribes should be even going into challenges, so if that requires one or more person to sit, so be it.
I know it's Survivor and the point is to lie and cheat, but I would expect if someone sits out, they should honor that and really sit out. Otherwise it's not lying and cheating, it's just scummy. There's no way to police it, but its not in the spirit of the game.

Agreed! However, there can be a compromise-have people sit this time to even the "siting out" thing, then have a discussion. However, I think the spirit of Survivor is better served by having the basic operation be the game.Elvis wrote:Tribes should be even going into challenges, so if that requires one or more person to sit, so be it.

How long do you anticipate the live challenge going for?

I'm just saying that unless there's some specific reason for sitting someone out, it shouldn't be necessary, otherwise what's the point in playing. Deliberately dis-including someone from participating (again, unless it's some vital thing where numbers matter) than it wouldn't matter.
Take last challenge for example. One person from each tribe was the main poster. Would there have been ANY point in symbolically sitting someone out?
Like I said, I think it's best for us to leave it up to Anth to decide when something needs to have someone sit out or not.

Probably a half-hour or so.TMBJon wrote:How long do you anticipate the live challenge going for?
As far as sitting out this challenge, it obviously can be completed with any number of players, but I think having extra minds to come up with ideas would be an advantage. So we will have the Minor Celebrities sit three people out.

Again, I think that's silly. But whatever, I'll sit out.

Just have to keep it fair because we did make the Jungle Cruise Guides sit somebody out last time.
