But a lot can happen in a week or less. Just ask Mrs. Britney Alexander.... er, Miss Brtiney Spears.

And for those of you who may not be familiar with the phrase, a "music video" is a visual clip often in the style of a mini-movie, lasting on average about four minutes and featuring a key song from a recently released album. Before VH1 decided to become "The Unfunny Michael Ian Black Soundbyte Network," it enjoyed the reputation of a popular music-video channel for almost two decades.

"The 101 Greatest VH1 Shows" :sarcasm:

J. Fred Muggs is alive and well and still working for NBC.
Hmmm...something's gone horribly awry here...

Actually, both MTV and VH1 do still show LONG, SOLID blocks of videos. Usually, though, they are during the daytime when few people are watching. You're hard pressed to see a video after 4:00 pm on either station.

VH1 shows two or three hours of video starting at 3 AM.

3am? I'm not sure about some people here, but I think most of us are sleeping during that time.

Unless you're in Australia, but they don't have VH1.

Well, since the SNL thing is not airing anytime in the near future, this thread probably won't be getting back on the topic of that for quite some time.

But since I share your vision of tying all things to Al, consider that both MTV and VH1 air music videos in only the most inaccessible blocks of programming (or would that be "least accessible?"), it might not have even mattered if Al was able to do a video for "Couch Potato." Al may be on the right track just doing the "Al-TV" specials for new albums since those can be plugged into any time slot.

Of course, it still would have been great to see a real music video this time around...or maybe even an SNL appearance.

Ah-ha! See? Back on topic!
