That is true, but even IF the title wasnt announced, even in the original Star Wars for example, Princess Leia's message to Obi Wan started with "...Years ago you served my father in the clone war..." so it was a known thing. But if not that, i don't know what its a reference to.JEDM wrote: I doubt it was something about "Attack of the Clones" unless there was a confirmation of the title/plot back in 1999. I love this song, yet I'm not a Star Wars fan in the least. Granted, I did see Phantom Menace when it came out, going in thinking "I'll give it a shot, it can't be any worse than the originals." That's all irrelevant, though.
Saw the song live for the first time last night, with all the Stormtroopers, etc. Really makes a great live show song.

Re: The Saga Begins
I always just thought it was a joke based on the fact that in the song multiple voices are singing the finale, so Al just had the editor make it look like there were suddenly many copies of him in the desert singing.

that part always gave me the chills. i never really considered it a joke, though that interpretation always seemed right.Big Spoon wrote:I always just thought it was a joke based on the fact that in the song multiple voices are singing the finale, so Al just had the editor make it look like there were suddenly many copies of him in the desert singing.

Ah, ok. So that's what I had been going off of all these years- just wanted to see if there was also a Star Wars joke there or not. I am guessing there are tons of Star Wars jokes I am not getting in that video.
