Yeah, I really missed having some "really old stuff" on the SOL Tour. It was the one thing that was really missing from it.

Re: 2010 Tour
And by the same token, the contents of a polka (usually) reveal nothing about its title. Nobody could listen to "Polkarama!" without knowing it was called "Polkarama!" and deduce that it was called "Polkarama!" So if Al's one new song is the polka, that solves the problem right there. Just title the thread "Untitled Album #13 Polka," change the thread's name when we learn the song title, and move on.Another thing is any new song will likely be the polka or a parody. Polka titles don't reveal anything about the songs inside. "Polkarama!" tells you nothing.
And as you mentioned, several of his parodies work this way too - if you heard "A Complicated Song," "Couch Potato," "Ode To A Superhero," "Cavity Search," "The Plumbing Song," "Bedrock Anthem" or "The Saga Begins" without knowing the titles, you'd probably guess the titles wrong. Even a couple of originals, like "Truck Driving Song" and "Bob," fail to mention the title even once in their lyrics.

As soon as that title was released, everyone knew it was a parody of Complicated.FredHuggins wrote:"A Complicated Song,"... without knowing the titles, you'd probably guess the titles wrong.
And I'd prove it if the search function was working.

PS: Fix the search function.

Re: 2010 Tour
Have we ever had a tour without the supporting album released before?

Re: 2010 Tour
About to post the spoiler policy, but one thing I'm not clear on.
If a new song is debuted at the concert, are we starting a topic for it in the "Spoiler Zone" or in "Music"? And if it's "Music", are we using the real title, or something generic like "New Song #1".
I'm thinking we post it in "Spoiler Zone" with the real title, but will go along with whatever the group says.

Re: 2010 Tour
In that case do we impose bans on avatars/signatures or even general mentions/quotes from the lyrics of the new song outside of the Spoiler Zone? I am with you in principle here, but it's going to be really tough to enforce or draw a line in the sand of what is allowed and what isn't.
I couldn't tell a dirt clod from a plate of caviar.

Re: 2010 Tour
If we went that way, you'd be able to discuss the new song anywhere in the "Spoiler Zone" and outside the "Spoiler Zone" only in tour topics for concerts that already happened. If you discussed it elsewhere, you'd need to use spoiler tags.TMBJon wrote:In that case do we impose bans on avatars/signatures or even general mentions/quotes from the lyrics of the new song outside of the Spoiler Zone? If we put the topic in "Music" you could discuss the new song only in the new topic in "Music" and only in tour topics for concerts that already happened. If you discussed it elsewhere, you'd still need to use spoiler tags.
I would think signatures and avatars would need to remain spoiler free regardless of whereever the topic is.
