Re: tweak.com interview.

How can you possibly judge someone in 1/2 hour? Al doesn't have to be funny all the time. I think these guys were disappointed because they had their own selfish expectations and Al didn't fulfill them.

There is no greater reality check than to find out that celebs are human, too. They shouldn't have to "turn on" because you're expecting them to act in a certain way or live up to the image they've created 24/7.

That was the one with the two idiots who wanted to go out drinking with Al in the belief that it would make him funnier? I agree. Al actually is very obliging about turning on his "wacky/goofy" switch on request, but that doesn't mean he always wants to do it. As he's said in some recent interviews, there are comedians who are "on" all the time, but they tend to be pretty obnoxious.

And Al drinking?

I don't think so....

Leave our boy alone! He's my dietary role model!

And I agree totally with what OE said...no one should be expected to be fall down funny ALL the time...some of the funniest moments come from when someone isn't trying to be funny!

I have a question is this that one were two guys see Al back stage and they say that he was mean and yelled at them. The only reason I ask is because its sounds familar and I havent read it.

I had never read that before, and that was absolutely the most vile piece of cow dung that I had ever set my eyes on. Those two morons who wrote that article wouldn't know comedy if it walked right up and smacked them upside their empty, air-filled bulbous heads!!! I can't believe they would say those horrible things about Al. The part where they said that they were afraid Al would go crazy on them really made me mad! They made a mockery of the entire Al experience, right down to the fans! If I ever see another stupid article by those two freaks, I'll be the one to go crazy! :P Just so you know, I'm not quite as mad as this post would lead you to believe. :)
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

Since I'm a professional translator, I thought I'd offer a translation of some of the questions in that interview.

"Would you like to go up to the bar and do the interview?" (We haven't researched this person we're interviewing sufficiently to know that he isn't much of a drinker)

"I've got to know, is being Weird Al financially great, or what?" (we don't mind asking extremely personal questions that are none of our business or our readers', either-- hey, Al, can we see your 1040?)

"The first time I heard you was when you parodied Michael Jackson's 'Beat It.' And I thought it was pretty funny then, but I never expected to hear from you again" (I didn't think you had enough talent to have more than one hit song)

"Well, people keep writing good pop songs and you just cover them."(I think all your hit songs are thanks to other peoples' talent, not your own)

They also got the name of the album wrong and (gasp!) offered an unsolicited parody idea.

"By the end of the interview, Weird Al was upbeat" (being able to say goodbye to these guys would cheer anybody up)

Hope this helps.
