Two scenarios:
1) Al's recording that one song they wrote together.
2) Al's recording a Hanson style parody and getting some authenticity, a la Manzarek, Folds and Dweezil.
Or maybe both?

Scenario Three: Al really really really doesn't want Rubén in the studio with him.

I actually doubt Fred's two scenarios but would be sad by Jon's. It does appear Ruben has not been in the studio a lot for this album so far.
Is my dude a dweeb?

Re: Still Drooling Over Album 13
Don't worry, I was only joking. From what I understand, Al likes to keep his in studio band as small as possible. (For example, the rap parodies are entirely composed within Pro Tools by Bermuda, though they could be played live if Al wanted to.) I assume there are many factors contributing to this, not the least of which is financial. If you look at the tracklists of all albums since Rubén joined the band, he is really only featured on a handful of studio recordings. I think Al likes to work with a variety of different studio keyboardists (as well as other muscians) such as Kim Bullard, or bring in guest musicians like Ray Manzarek or Taylor Hanson, or even play the parts himself. One thing's for sure: it's certainly not personal.

uhhh...wow...I never thought I'd hear those words together in that order ever...but yeah, I think it's a bit more likely that they were just recording that Brian Wilson song they wrote together...FredHuggins wrote:Al's recording a Hanson style parody

More than likely a DVD will be attached for the videos. Does anybody think a Blu-ray option will be there, or will that wait until a video compilation?

A Hanson style parody with Taylor Hanson would be so lame.

I was just thinking. Al seems to like to parody classic songs with popular movies like Yoda, Jurassic Park, The Saga Begins, and Ode to a Superhero. Do you think he might do one for Avatar?

I hadn't thought about it, but there's definitely a chance.

I hope not. Al's got better things to do with his time than acknowledge the existence of that overblown pile of empty horsesmurf.
