It built popularity last fall and still is getting requesting which is rare. She has had one hit so far and expect a couple more from what critics are saying. I can see Tik Tok in the polka (if it is a top 40 type medley). It is not common for a song to be requested and popular for more than a month or so with a few exceptions these days. They say she is a mix of Avril and Lady Gaga.
Thank you, Dustin.

...and I'm pretty sure Al would want to fill the rest of the album with newer, more relevant parodies than WYL. He'll probably be looking over the Bilboard charts over the next two months. Kesha will probably be relegated to the polka if she shows up on the album at all. Or, he could possibly parody a classic rock song with lyrics about "Avatar" or some other current movie. SOL lacked one of those types of songs and its four predecessors had it. I hope this next album continues the trend.

That an exception since it was a digital download, had Al waited for the new album to release it, the song would have beem over 2 years old. I would even venture at this point that Whatever You Like may nkt even end up on the final album, as Im not so sure Al wants to support convicted felons.
Oh, I doubt Al thinks about someone's criminal record. There would be a lot of acts left off parodies and polkas if he did!
Besides, TI seems to be a good enough kid despite his past mistake.

Been away for a lil while. Been looking up some news on his new release, and can't find anything. Is there any news on when/if a full release album will be out at some point this year? He mentioned something on RAW Nerve with Shatner. Heard he's supposed to tour this summer too. Any chance with Internet Leaks taking up half the new album, we'll see a release by May/June?

Al will have to analyze the singles popular in the next few months and decide if there is enough material to warrant five parodies and a polka. If not, he will tour through the summer and probably write the rest of the album in the fall with a release in Q4 '10.

Unless he is writing or has been writing without tweeting it. He may just be kicking it old school that way

...or, if there's not enough to work with as far as parodies he could start working on the next polka medley and relese that as a single (if the whole album isn't out yet) just in time for the tour just so he has a new one to preform.

That's actually not the worst idea in the world. I wonder how a polka single would go over.

It would go over well from us, not the general public. I dont think the regular run of the mill person would see a new Al song on iTunes and say "Hey, let me buy a polka song"

It looks like an idea that has been discussed on here has already been done. On this weekend's DrD (What, Like, U don't know where to hear it online without Paying?), Sol Rabinowitz and the Polka Dots did a Lady Gaga parody called "Polka Face," which was essentially "Poker Face" done like a slower-tempoed Frankie Yankovic polka.

It was a very one-joke kind of song. I personally wasn't crazy about the idea being bandied back and forth on here, mostly because it seemed a little too obvious. And also, as demonstrated by what was played this weekend, the idea pretty much dictates and limits what the song would be: a Lady Gaga polka. I would much, much rather hear an actual parody and leave the polka on the album open to the many, many other artists over the last four years that would be otherwise overlooked.

Al has defied expectations on here in the past, but I think that (assuming permission) Lady Gaga is almost surely a lock to be targeted on this new album, as very few other artists have so saturated pop culture this past year. "Poker Face" is a possibility, I suppose, but "Bad Romance" seems a little more likely, especially now that it's topped practically every chart around the world. And parodying a song that recent (at least more so than the songs on "The Fame") would at least diffuse the occasional gripe Al gets from critics that his parodies aren't being "reactionary" enough.
