Re: Altube 2.0
I'm trying to compile a few YouTube playlists that collectively compile every single unique Weird Al TV (or internet video) appearance on YouTube, in chronological order. Here's what I've got so far.
Part 1 (1979-1993) http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p ... 6F1CB1C2AF
Part 2 (1993-1998) http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p ... 3AF6B563BA
Part 3 (1999-2009) http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p ... 1BD3366005
But I need your help. I want these playlists to be as definitive as possible, so PLEASE - if you have a moment, look over them and let me know if I've forgotten anything, or gotten anything out of chronological order. I have already made a few such "mistakes" deliberately, but I still want to know if I've made any REAL mistakes.
My main ground rule is to have as little redundancy as possible. Bootleg concert footage is fine, but if possible I only want each song represented ONCE. Sometimes that's not possible - I wanted both the Johnny Carson AND "WAY Live" performances of "Yoda," and I included THREE clips of W&N - the video, the first take w/ Osmond, and the Big In '06 performance. Also, to make things simple, I put all the Lynwood tour footage in the playlist together, as though they were all from the same show.
Also, no unofficial fan-made videos (except ONE which I think is too awesome to ignore - Ryan Krzak's "Albuquerque"), no videoless songs with static images like WYL (the only exceptions to THIS rule are Al's Simpsons appearances, which are too significant to ignore), and a minimum of generic local interviews in which Al says nothing new.
Enjoy the playlists, tell me what you think! Thanks for your help!

Re: Altube 2.0
Man, this has been a year of Al in popular culture, hasn't it? Maybe he'll finally have that number one single.

How old was that last signature? I mean, really?

Re: Altube 2.0
I love CollegeHumor and Die Hard, so that was awesome.
Anyways, Al's referenced a lot in number five on this video...beware, the rest of the video's quite vulgar, it is on Cracked.com after all...
(Although if you don't want to watch the video, the guy's basically saying that YouTube parody is quite sad and terrible in comparison to Al. To quote the video: "It's like a little army of Weird Al's...except if Weird Al only had a green screen, only parodied sh*tty top 40 dance pop, and ran his voice through the opposite of Auto Tune...and also if he had a batched frontal lobotomy.")
