Not picking on Patti, but might as well throw this bit of advice into the mix now: When sending a SASE for a picture of a celebrity, it's usually advisable to use a bigger 9-by-12-ish size envelope, fold it in half, and send it to the person in another 9-by-12 envelope. You'd be paying a little more for postage each way, but it will give the celebrity's mail-handler less of a reason to bend or do other unforgivable things to get the photo into your SASE.

And also, whenever possible, always include a cut piece of posterboard to go into your SASE to help protect against accidental bending and folding as it gets sent back to you.

Yeah, well, I didn't even know what to expect, but, yes, using a larger envelope would have been a wise move on my part. Greg makes a good point.

I honestly was surprised to get the photo. A treasured item from the fine folks at CPFOA! The fold didn't really cause too much wear on the photo, fortunately.

I've written several and included a SASE on all of them except the first one, but never got one back. I just have poor luck. ^_^

It's hit and miss when writing to celebs. I think if you do as much work for the celeb's office as possible, you might have a better chance to get something back and perhaps sooner, who knows?

This sounds kind of dumb, but did you actually say, "I would like a photo?"

Hmm, I never asked for anything. I just sent the SASE, and wrote a letter. I was so happy when I got something back. CB, I'm sorry you've never gotten a response.

Try one more time (and maybe mention the previous five times  ) I know they say third time's the charm, so sixth time must be doubly charmed, right?
