White and Nerdy

The first song ever to get a 2.0 topic! (You can thank the spammers for that) Original is here.

So, uh...still good three years later.
I'm ranking every Beatles song on my new pop culture blog. Check it out!

I still say this is his strongest parody, lyrically.
I couldn't tell a dirt clod from a plate of caviar.

I completely agree. Not nearly as good as some of his originals, though.

The only Weird Al song better than this in my opinion is the Night Santa Went Crazy. Though I agree this is and probably will forever be his best parody.
How old was that last signature? I mean, really?

Yeah, I`m hooked on Nature Trail to Hell more than ever thanks to Halloween approaching.
But that rap parody is sure a masterpiece. So many in-jokes related to Weird Al`s hidden references and the nerdy world in general! After Girl-Talk problems (Wanna B Ur LuvR), here`s the Nerd Pride Parade.
"So I went in my garaage, got in my care
And I drived, talking with my blue teeth
My boyfreind told me don't cree
Come to my houss, don't worraye,
we'll talk about this togeedurr."

Here's an interesting claim. These producers claim that Al didn't re-record the music for White & Nerdy, just used the master from Ridin'. Weird Al, karaoke singer, in effect. Which certainly conflicts with the album notes that credit Jim and Jon. What do you all think of the claim?
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

I think it's a false claim. The two tracks sound similar, but there are definitely differences enough that one can tell that he rerecorded it.

Al's band has just gotten so well at re-recording the parody music that most of them just sound similar. I really don't think Al would do that.

Yeah, I saw that and thought something sounded fishy. They also claim he lost money on the publishing rights because he supposedly just rapped over the original music track for Ridin'. They claim he couldn't recreate the music. Since when has Al not been able to do that?
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

This is a pretty serious accusation considering we know Jon and Jim played the instrumental that appears on the album. The only thing I can think of is maybe they asked for the instrumental version to rap over for the vocals if Jon and Jim hadn't recorded yet. I'm pretty sure Al made out alright on publishing rights for White & Nerdy. Sounded like he didn't know what he was talking about.
