Al Remix Album - Submissions Wanted!

Id like to have my band have a crack at this, i think we could do a short folk remix medly of weird al songs that might be fun...

Oh right. Hey does anybody have the Weird Al Ultimate Video Collection DVD? Apparently it's 5.1 surround sound so maybe we might be able to get some vocals from the center channel like we did with Straight Outta Lynwood

Apparently it's an upmix, also affectionately known as a "false advertising crapmix that's not really remastered for surround sound, but is just the same old stereo mix in four channels so we can put 'surround sound' on the box in order to trick you into buying it because we've all stupid" which means: no that won't work.

too bad nobody else seems interested in doing this. sounded like an awesome idea to me.

I've made some progress in terms of now I have collected mp3s of just about every song Weird Al has ever made fun of on his CDs - this includes the polka medleys - and some of them even have separated tracks so I might eventually be able to make some stuff out of that.

I just asked Weird Al on his live twitter podcast thingy if he was gonna release acapellas for remixing and he said he is looking to do something different than he's done before with his next project but can't promise anything at this point. Still that was kinda cool. I never got to talk to anybody who I'm watching live on video over the internet before. Kinda weird ....

I have an idea: Take the "shave and a haircut" portion from Polkarama and mix it with the music from the "This is Sparta Fun Times remix" and you'll get...
"Shave and a Haircut 300!"

Or try mixing the "Gold Digger" portion from Polkarama and set it against the "This is Sparta Fun Times remix" music and you'll get...
"This is GOLD GOLD DIGGAAAAAA!"
