I don't know. I think the last one got around pretty well through word of mouth, especially among Disney employees. I think he's counting on this one going around much the same way, through fans of the White Stripes and of JibJab itself. If he announced that he was doing a White Stripes style parody, I don't know how much interest that would generate among White Stripes fans if there isn't an actual product yet for them to see/hear.Big Spoon @ July 29, 2009 06:56 pm wrote: Why the hell isn't Al promoting these singles at all? It's like he wants them to fail.

It's because Al knows he wants to cash in on Internet success but he doesn't know how to do it. Basically he's expecting White & Nerdy to happen again and a song will just explode overnight. That's not the way it always works, but he can't figure that out.
With the right promotion, releasing songs early on digital outlets is a great idea and has been proven to be very successful with other artists. When they actually promote the songs.

I have an account at JibJab and I make videos for my class website all the time, featuring my kids. It's actually really easy to do - all you have to do is upload a picture and size it how you want it. Their software does the rest. You can check out the free Starring You pictures to see how it works.uwvark @ July 29, 2009 09:27 am wrote: Cool, I'm interested in how I get to put myself in the video. Would we then be able to save that off? Gnarly!!

Sometimes they have free "Starring You" videos. But most of them are ones that you have to be a paid member to use. But the memberships are unlimited, so if anyone wants one made with their picture in it, I'd be happy to make them on my account and then send you the link.

I did see that once in a promotion for the 'Step Brothers' movie. At the end Will Ferrell pulls out a big sign with your head on it and says he's going to get this guy to kick his step brothers ass. Quite hilarious! As I said though I wish you could have saved it off somehow. Ha, I found it!!
So it's just a still image though? I was hoping to do some white boy dancing.
