I've noticed something after listening to Al for at least 6 years now.

His voice changed extremely from BHD to RWS. Yes, I know this is when he got LASIK and shaved and ket the Modern Al look take effect. But I was just wondering how many others have noticed these changes before. (I also know that the voice never really stops changing until you're about 35, so yeah, it was probably just puberty, but I wanted to talk about it anyway.)

Puberty at 35... gaaaah!

I'm inclined to think that it's mostly that Al became more confident and started dropping the jokey nasally sound. He really does have a good voice.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

He's a much better singer than he gives himself credit for. And he has improved over the years. I don't know if he's worked with anyone to train his voice, or if he's just worked on it himself.

I am so glad he's (mostly) deep-sixed the nasally comedy weird al voice.

Also he did have a voice coach for a while. Im not sure when that was, I want to say it was after Polka Party, just by listening to the records, but he could have been coached around the time of BHD

I'm really glad he dropped the nasally voice, too.

Al's voice has definitely improved dramatically especially after/around BHD. When he sings "seriously" he sounds very nice. I was reminded of this again listening to Skipper Dan.

I've never been bothered by his singing voice except when he did that intentionally annoying voice in GJWHL. But the dorky voice he used pre-RWS and still uses in cartoons is very annoying.
