Did Al make any Burma Shave jokes before in his life? I shouldn't be getting that reference, but I do. I remember finding out Burma Shave ads not too long ago, but I can't remember why.

By the way, the ad Al posted is from 1955, according to Wikipedia.

Despite this being some ad, anyone think it is possible those tweets might be part of some of the lyrics to something new?

You know, also...I was thinking...

It may be very likely some of these new songs he's talking about could be parodies...I've always heard that he has the originals written pretty far in advance to recording them, and the demos, too, are recorded shortly after being written...
Why would he hire directors for original songs he hasn't even really finished working on yet, with how much of a perfectionist Al is...?
I mean, it DOES make sense they'd be originals cause he is such a control freak with the Live-Action videos...

But, the whole demo part really gets me...and I kinda can't see Al releasing 4 originals all at once...that just doesn't sound too financially wise, since those tend not to do as well as the parodies, online...

Anyone agree with me, even slightly?

Edited. I thought I was in the speculation thread. I've moved my reply here

I wonder if Al realized this would turn into humorous speculation. I also wonder if that's what Al wanted us to think :F

To answer my own question (yeah, because you were DYING TO KNOW), I learned about Burma Shave not too long ago when I started reading xkcd. More specifically, this comic:

Of course, I only remembered this because someone linked to this comic in reply to Al's tweet.

First Moby Dick, now Burma Shave. Al just can't tweet anything original, can he??
I guess he's gonna have to stick to revealing information about new projects he's working on...

It's very easy to copy and paste a well-known literary passage -- even in Cyrillic.
This means something. This is important.
