To quote many a brain-dead AOLer, "me too!" Or, how about somebody tapes it and uploads it to YouTube for all us po' folks?

Thanks!
Praise AL!

Wow ... you guys cant be serious?
Al has an exclusivity contract with the OC fair people.. and he wants to hawk it to other countries too. If its been all over You-Tube nobody will want to host it. I'm guessing Als put a lot of investment in time and money into this project and it's supposed to pay the bills for a while.. Hooligans!! :P

Oh, are we having the bootleg argument again?

You know, let's not even go into the bootleg aspect. Just because something is available on video, it doesn't stop most people from wanting to see it in person.

Let's remember that not everyone behaves the same or has the same habits. Say you have Al's Brain, and it's included in the price of the Fair admission. Then you can divide people in groups:

A. People who attend the Fair, but aren't interested in Al's Brain (I know, shocking!)
B. People who attend the Fair, and visit Al's Brain just because it's included on the price. (This is the majority of people, by the way)
C. People who attend the Fair because Al's Brain in it. (That's most of us)

And remember, there's always the people who won't go to the Fair or Al's Brain, no matter how much you tell them they should. (LOSERS!) And I guess we could branch out the classification even further, but they're not paying me to do this.

Now, as much as we love Al, we're on group C. If we saw the movie on YouTube, and we had the possibility to see it in person too, we'll see it in person. Because we're awesome.

For the people in the group B, it would make no difference if they saw the movie in advance. They won't say "oh, but I already saw it on YouTube". They'll say "oooh, I want to see the 3-D!!"

As for the people in group A and the people who weren't going to attend the Fair at all, seeing the movie on YouTube might even convince them that Al's Brain is worth checking out.

So, the way *I* see it (and I could be completely wrong, feel free to correct me), if the movie leaks on YouTube it could either have no influence at all, or a *positive* influence.

LOL Interesting theory...It's not really the impact on individuals, but on event planners that concerns me. Mind you on the other hand, if some of the casuals didnt bother, because of seeing it on You-Tube, maybe it will be less crowded and have shorter queues when I go... (cos Im so selfish that way)

Apparently there's other parts to the exhibit, too... that part probably won't be on (or have the same effect on) YouTube.

I dont think the video being on YouTube will affect getting it into other venues at all. Al fans will still go see it, and people who arent Al fans will still go see it if they are playing it at a museum and they find it interesting. A crappy YouTube video wont compete.

I don't think I've seen this page before. Nothing new there, though. I love that they call him "famed artist"

I want to think this is Al's Brain-related: Helmet Hut: Weird Al Yankovic:

There were modifications to the internal suspension to accommodate, in Weird Al's own words,  "I've got big hair man, big hair".

ETA: I found it on my usual random google searching (today it was "weird al" + "colors"), but a search on webarchive.org shows that Al wasn't on that website last January, so the feature is fairly new.
