I also hated the first song.
I've listened to this new one a few times now and it's a HUGE improvement over the first. I absolutely love Jim's slack key guitar playing, so that's a big part of what makes this so much better.
To be honest, I'm not that keen on Steve as a singer, though he's probably the best of the four. Obviously, this song was tailored to take advantage of Jim's specialty. I'll be interested to see what else they can do besides the Hawaiin sound. Though, to be honest, I love Jim's stuff so much, I wouldn't mind if this project was purely an instrumental Hawaiin band, with the other three guys just backing up Jim.

I'm going to join the group of "Wow, great stride forward, guys!" Interesting subject and well-presented. Keep it up!
And Lou, I'll also join those astonished that you've only been a fan for a year. That's about my time, too! Only you win, hands down.
Cheers!

Well it's nice to see so many positive comments. It really was worth waiting until hearing the song to pass judgement after all, just as I said it would be. Personally I love Steve's voice, but I guess that's no surprise to anybody; Physical Answer is one of my all time favourite albums after all, and I love Jim's slack key too.
