Nuclear Bubble Wrap thread (new song 11/8/12)

Post by weirdojace »

Image
My band. That picture is me, Eric, and Brendan. Kyle's in the band too but he isn't in that pic for some reason...

Some of you probably know that I'm in a band called Nuclear Bubble Wrap. We do "funny music" much like the person this forum is dedicated to. We used to do a lot of parodies but have since abandoned that. All our material from now on is original.

My band, Nuclear Bubble Wrap is made of 4 guys. Kyle and I switch between lead vocal duties. I play keyboards, Kyle plays guitar and bass, Brendan also plays guitar and bass, and Eric plays drums. Our songs are recorded at a studio in Nashville and are produced by the awesome Steve Goodie.

Music videos:
Avada Kedavra
Draining the Lizard on a Dead Gay Wizard - animated by Andrew Kepple.
ScientLOLojyuuichi - animated by anonymous animator you definitely don't know about

Free mp3s:

Lizards in the Sky
Intergalactic species warfare.

Burning Ambitions
A song about setting stuff on fire.
Kyle Thorne: vocal, guitars, bass
Jace McLain: piano, keyboards
Eric Zhu: drums

Hulkulele
So, one of my roommates has a pair of Hulk hands. Another one has a ukulele. Somehow that led to this song existing.
Kyle Thorne: vocals, acoustic guitar
Jace McLain: backing vocals, electric guitars, keyboards, percussion
Steve Goodie: drums, bass
Cody Seaver: ukulele

Sharktopus
In September 2010, a film was released on the SyFy Channel entitled "Sharktopus." This song has nothing to do with that movie, we just thought the word "sharktopus" sounded cool. It's a song about a couple out at sea, and what happens to them when an evil sea monster arises.
Jace McLain: vocals, piano, keyboards
Brendan Sheairs: guitars, bass, backing vocals
Eric Zhu: drums

Radiation Mutation Transformation
This is about a microwave that causes genetic mutations if you stand too close to it. The protagonist of the song seems to hate his personal appearance and wants to use this microwave to alter it.
Kyle Thorne: vocals, guitars, bass, that inception-sounding thing
Jace McLain: keyboards, backing vocals
Steve Goodie: drums, synth programming
Austin Aeschliman: backing vocals

Black Holes Suck
An educational song about how black holes work.

Raichu a Song
A silly love song that uses Pokemon name puns everywhere.
Jace McLain: vocals, keyboards, pots and pans
Kyle Thorne: guitars
Brendan Sheairs: bass
Eric Zhu: drums

Avada Kedavra
Our epic parody of "Hakuna Matata" about Draco Malfoy's task to kill Dumbledore.
Steve Goodie: vocals, bass, drums, guitars, keyboards, percussion, production
Jace McLain: vocals, accordion, percussion
Kyle Thorne: vocals, guitars
Bryan Cumming: saxophone
Barbara D: vocals

In Space No One Can Hear You Scream
A sort of depressing Jonathan Coulton-ish song about a guy who gets lost in space. Musically it kinda resembles The Flaming Lips. Or I like to think it does.
Kyle Thorne: lead vocal, guitars, bass
Jace McLain: keyboards, backing vocals
Steve Goodie: drums

The Halloween That Came Before November the First
Kyle Thorne: vocals, guitars, some toy we got at walmart
Jace McLain: bass, drums, keyboards, screaming

I Never Go to Work
They Might Be Giants cover.
Jace McLain: vocals, lead guitar, bass, synth tuba
Kyle Thorne: acoustic and electric guitars, backing vocals
Eric Zhu: drums

Awesome! And congratulations on the thread! :Y
I am a pretty big fan of Nuclear Bubble Wrap.
Some very clever songs.
I haven't heard 'everything', since I've only officially bought 3 songs (so far).. so I don't know. :P

But Still Alive (Uranium Version) is a masterpiece.
And Dumbledore Died is freaking awesome.
I have a few other favorites, but for now I'm going to go listen to your new stuff. (although a few you've previously released already)

Keep up the great work, Jace! :Y
Silence will fall.
