Why are we making up rules, like where the polka has to go? Al can do whatever the hell he wants; he's not bound to any rules we make up for him.

I don't think it's about making "rules," Grom. It's more about spotting trends and predicting based on those trends. For instance, I can say with 99% likelyhood of being correct that the polka for the next album will NOT be tracks, 1 or 2. I'd say all others are fair game, but judging by the last 4 albums (and the majority of albums thus far), Al likes to put the polka somewhere near the middle of the album.

And I think the middle is the best spot for the polka, as it breaks up the album nicely.

Al usually has it switch between cover and original. Scissors and BHD are great examples.

Right but that pattern is not as time tested as the others.
While I think the parody-original format works best, Al has shown with SOL he isn't married to it. That being said I think it would have been better if DICYO had played between WSD and CBNC. No idea why he had to do it that way...

I also think that "Trapped in the Drive-Thru" should have been last on the album. It's anti-climatic to have a big, long song followed by a regular length song at the end. Epic, long songs should always be last, like all the others have been.

I think DDTS is a really powerful sounding closing, even if it isn't long.

It's not the fact that it's NOT long. And I agree that it's a good closing song. But when the album contains a REALLY long song, it should be last on the album. Or at least somewhere in the middle wouldn't be as bad. But it's just weird to have this really long song followed by a much shorter one as the finale.

Agreed. I thought that the album was over after I heard TITDT for the first time. It does sound a little out of place to be the second to last song on the album.
