Exactly. That's why I was thinking it would be possible that the next album could include a couple extra songs rather than one very long track. Frankly, I'd prefer that...anthontherun @ November 11, 2008 10:12 pm wrote: I think these days it's less of a "I need exactly a dozen songs" than "I want to have ~50 minutes of music."

Because of Al's tradition of doing polkas on (almost) every album and alternating polkas and originals, people see trends in Al's music and assume they're going to stick. I know a lot of us assumed after "Ode to a Superhero," that the classic rock song parody was going to be a standard element of all of his new albums. Now, with three back-to-back "epic" songs, a lot of people assume that Al's going to continue to have one on every album.
But remember - like most albums, the originals for SOL were done well before the parodies, so had Al not chosen to do "Trapped," we wouldn't have gotten a really long song anyway.
Also, notice that on each album, the really long song is complimented by a relatively short song on the same album. For RWS, it was TWAS Theme. For SOL, it was WSD. For PH, it was "Bob." So, I think that either way, the albums will continue to consist of 12 songs - 5 parodies, 1 polka, 6 originals.

Would ALbum 13 be having 6 parodies, 6 originals, and 1 polka? Or having 6 parodies, 5 originals, and 1 polka? BTW, here are the possible parodies of ALbum 13:
*Busy Being Fabio (parody of "Busy Being Fabulous" by The Eagles)
*Whatever You Like (parody of the song of the same name by T.I.)
*Glasses (parody of "Damaged" by Danity Kane)
*Captain Kirk (parody of "I Kissed A Girl" by Katy Perry)
*YouTube (parody of "Who Knew" by Kelly Clarkson)
*No Hair (parody of "No Air" by Jordin Sparks)
*When You Cook Me Curly Fries (parody of "When You Look Me In The Eyes" by Jonas Bros.)
