I always thought I was 'missing' out on something because I'd never heard of them before Al came along.

Apparently "before Al came along" is pretty much the only time you would have heard of them.



What I can't figure out is why no one intervened in what sounds like a situation with some real danger...I mean, throwing things at the band? Where were the venue management or security people?



Of course, that wasn't the last time that Al & the band had to cope with things being thrown at them. But Oreos don't have quite the same potential for mayhem as car keys flying through the air.



Not that Oreos are a good idea, either, I hasten to say. You wouldn't want to catch one of those in the eye, & the "white stuff" would be pretty slippery on stage.

Yeah, Bermuda was probably giving the rounded-off totals. It really went more like this:

Al: $93.27

Steve:$93.78

Jim: $93.46

Jon: $93.12 (that's the trouble with playing drums-- you're at the back of the stage, so the only extra emoluments come from "fans" with really powerful throwing arms)



I wonder if the extra emoluments were enough to pay for the extra liniment. :dontgetit:

(A moving target is so much harder to hit.) And I think they hated them more than $1.63s worth of change. Yep. I saved Dr. Dad the trouble of doing the math

Sorry, I did just know that word... sort of. I'd read it but never used it, so I checked before I posted to make sure it did mean what I thought it did. BTW, I'm not really all that scary a Scrabble opponent. I'm a bad strategist, so I'm always leaving those double-letter and triple-word score spaces available for other players without realizing it. :shocked:

Dave has a good point about inflation... but really, don't you think it's kind of sordid to measure someone's feelings for another person in terms of cash? That audience showed a sincerity and depth of emotion that just can't be expressed by mere money.
