Target has this on sale for $11.99 this week so I picked it up.

And immediately realized why I didn't buy the previous Simpsons CDs. These songs work way better as minute-long things during episodes and not 72 consecutive minutes.
I'm ranking every Beatles song on my new pop culture blog. Check it out!

Yeah, the only one I own is The Simpsons Sing The Blues, and even that I don't listen to anymore. The only song from there that gets regular rotation on my MP3 player is Look At All Those Idiots.
I was elected to lead, not to read.

I dunno, Songs in the Key of Springfield had some pretty memorable and repeat listen-to-able songs, such as the Stonecutters song, Lurleen Lumpkin's songs and a couple of others.

Al's new interview with the A.V. Club mentions Al on the Simpsons.

Fox just issued this press release:

MARGE AND HOMER RECOUNT HOW HOMER SINGLEHANDEDLY
STARTED THE GRUNGE MOVEMENT DURING THE 90’S
ON “THE SIMPSONS” SUNDAY, JANUARY 27, ON FOX

Weird Al Yankovic and Kurt Loder Make Guest-Voice Appearances

When Bart and Lisa discover Marge’s diploma from Springfield University, Marge reveals that she had attended the university back when she and Homer had first started dating. In a flash back, Homer gives up his dreams of becoming a musician and takes a job at his father’s laser tag warehouse to support Marge attending Springfield University. However, when Marge finds herself attracted to an offbeat professor named Professor August, Homer decides he has had enough of Marge’s wandering eye. Homer instead focuses his emotions on his music, inventing a new sound called “grunge.” As Marge continues to date the pretentious professor, Homer becomes the hottest grunge artist around, as evidenced by Weird Al’s parody of his music. But when Marge sees a special news report on MTV with Kurt Loder announcing that Homer’s band, Sadgasm, has broken up and that Homer is holed-up in a mansion hopelessly addicted to drugs, Marge must choose between her new life and her old love in the “That 90’s Show” episode of THE SIMPSONS Sunday, Jan. 27 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (SI-1904) (TV-PG D, L, V)

Voice Cast: Dan Castellaneta as Homer Simpson; Julie Kavner as Marge Simpson; Nancy Cartwright as Bart Simpson; Yeardley Smith as Lisa Simpson; Hank Azaria as Moe; Harry Shearer as Skinner; Pamela Hayden as Buxom Coed; Tress MacNeille as Fan #1

Guest Voice Cast: Weird Al Yankovic as himself; Kurt Loder as himself

:whoot: Alright! We have a release date and description for Al's next episode! Not only is it soon, but it's airing on the 27th!

Wonderful that Al's episode is coming, but it's also a little weird to see The Simpsons parallel universe imploding. In 1990 Marge and Homer had already been married 10 years.
This means something. This is important.

I wonder if it's a coincidence that it's airing on the 27th, or if they arranged for that to happen do to Al and the number. It's probably the former, though.

I wonder if Al will switch out the "Simpsons" clip on the next leg of the tour, or not.
