This is totally just speculation and reading between the lines, but...

On the Tour page, it now says:

Straight Outta Lynwood...
the final show for 2007!

It doesn't say last show for the TOUR, it says for 2007...

Offhand I can't think of a time in Al's career when it made more sense to tour a second year behind an album... it's a hit album with a hit single and video... and concert income is the one aspect of Al's work that can't be hurt by downloading HOOLIGANS.

I'm hoping that the reason for not extending the tour is because they plan to release a live DVD from this tour, and making us jones for the live show will drum up interest - ha! as if we wouldn't buy it the day it came out.

...and while I'm dreaming, how about a new CD in 2008? Another DualDisc, of course...!

Um, Karen, people are saying it's a possibility that Al will extend the tour. Plus, his contract says he is to release a new album every three years, so the next one won't come out until 2009. So, that's a good enough excuse for him to add a second leg to the US tour.

Ummm.... if he goes on a much needed break after 6 months of touring, counts in Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas, and the possibility of putting together a Live 2007 tour dvd (not saying he is or isn't, but is he does) then how would he also record, produce, mix, master, and press a new cd - a dualdisc even- for next year? There's only a couple months left in 2007.
