everybody who left early shouldn't have. Al finally showed his face a little past midnight....by that point, me, Rachael, Blaine and Nina (Rachael's poodle) were the only ones left so we actually got to have a decent conversation with him, without security breathing down our throats.
I'll post a review in the morning.....it was really nice seeing so many people for the first time in 4/6 years!

Did I beat everyone back to NJ? Yay! I know Adrian and Anne are stuck on a train, not sure where Serge is. Everyone else is probably still waiting by the buses.
Show was awesome! NYC crowds always please! The microphone stand broke in half during "Canadian Idiot" so Al threw the bottom half behind him and just used the top half. Al picked on some guy in the front row for IIATP then did a lot of posing for people with cameras. WBUL he was all in Jackie's and Anne's face. He put his leg up on the chair and sang to Jackie and came back and gave Anne a kablam. Some guy with two beers in his hand was dancing with him in the aisle. The guy ended up getting tossed out right before AP. Not sure what happened there, but I heard someone guy yell "stop touching me" and alert security. Anyway, Al took a spatula from some girl in the front row and started beating her shoulders with it.
Heard a few loud cheers for the NJ line in ISY. The 501st was there for TSB again. Al picked on a guy in the front row to sing "Yoda" and the guy belted it out to the cheers of the crowd. Al even commented "Nice job." Adrian and I got wet in SLN. Steve tossed his bass really high. He was having some problems with his strap throughout the show. In "Albuquerque" his strap broke halfway through the song, and he ended up swapping the bass he usually uses for another one where the strap was still attached. Al sang to Nancy in the front row again.
After show a crowd of us waited. Ruben came by and said hello to the crowd. Steve was around too. I promised I'd get back to him about something, so I tracked him down to pass along the information. Al didn't come out while I was there. I believe he was still in the theater, but security said otherwise. So maybe someone who waited longer than we did can fill in the details on whether he ever came out. (edit: I see he did.)
Serge was in the front row with his huge camera, so I'm sure he's got some really good pictures to share.

I think...
I'll train this boy.
Great show tonight! It was really nice to see all my Al friends again, and nice to meet some more--I was sitting next to flo-cat and her guy. Nice chatting with you both! Nice to meet you, too, Serge!
The crowd was pretty rowdy. One reason was that alcohol was sold at this venue, but the other rowdy group was a whole bunch of young kids, mostly boys of course, about middle school age. They weren't all together--they were everywhere and they were having the best time. I did feel bad for those sitting around them, though, since they were extremely boisterous. I found myself watching them and taking photos of them during the concert.

You can thank my girlfriend and I for Al finally coming out. We left at the stroke of midnight.richegreen @ Sep 21 2007, 06:36 AM wrote: everybody who left early shouldn't have. Yeah, our NJ Transit train got stuck behind another train in front of it that had a malfunctioning engine or something... but it didn't delay us too much. Mostly we had to wait a long time for our train because they only run every hour that late at night.
Great show... bummer (for those of us that left) that Al came out, but I shudder to think what time I would've gotten home if I hadn't left.
Too late to formulate thoughts, so I leave you with a couple of pictures from tonight's set (there are more to come):

Also, a humorous up-close look at the confetti cannon:

Sorry for the double post, but I just discovered that all the pics I took during Smells Like Nirvana and Amish Paradise got deleted off my camera because of my carelessness during the show. Apparentley what happened was I turned the camera off before my camera was done writing the pics to the mini cd, and taking the battery out didn't help. So those pics are gone forever. It's a shame too, I got some good ones during those songs. Oh well, I'm sure my fellow concert goer's can fill in the missing pieces for me.
I was elected to lead, not to read.
