thanks socby...I mapped my route out a while ago, since I am coming from Grand Central....it looks like a relatively painless trip though!

I was trying to answer this...

And I have no idea... how late the public transportation runs on a school night

Taxis are a given 24/7

Geez, isn't anyone going through Penn Station? I was hoping to have company on the subway.

Jackie, I hope your friend was able to get those tickets.

Dave might be coming in via Penn Station, unless he decides he is taking the light rail in--I am kinda stuck using the train, so Grand Central for me! I can meet you in Times Square (I have to go there to get the subway anyway) if you want...I'll clear my inbox and send along my cell.

I'll ask Rika about her luck with the tickets too!

I'll send you my cell, too. I'm at the mercy of my employer tomorrow afternoon and am not sure which train I'll be on yet.

All public transportation in New York City is 24 / 7 / 365. Of course the frequency of trains and buses is lower late at night, but not usually lower than one or per hour (most often greater).

mta.info has schedules for each bus and subway line.

And of course, for safety's sake, it's best to avoid the subway altogether by the time the show's over. If I may sound a bit Frommerish for a moment, the extra money you're paying for springing for a cab at that time of night is more for the piece of mind.

Alrighty, now I know. And sorry Nancy, but I can hop on the B train not too far from where I get off the Path, so I won't be going up to Penn Station. Might take the 1,2 or 3 train down to Penn after the show, or I might go back down to 72nd. st. and Central Park West to go back down to the Path station, not sure yet.

Edit: Well the last Light Rail train leaves Hoboken at 1:50 A.M., so looks like I'll probably stick around just a wee bit longer after the show, but we'll see what happens.
