On WBUL he was right in my wifes face for 'Do you mind if I chew on your butt?' so that was a big thrill for her. I'll post the video on youtube.

From the other shows I have attended I was confused on this one. It seemed like everything was out of order and thru the first several songs it seems like Al was just really beat/tired or something. He did totally pick it up at the end. Albuequerque was amazing (as always) I really liked the addition of the stormtroopers in TSB which I haven't seen before. It did seem like it was a sparse crowd though.

I wish the hell I knew how to get VIP passes because that's the only people Al communed with after the show. Us 'unspecial' people were left waiting outside a locked door in jealousy at the lucky ones. After we knew Al left his tour bus blew right past us all. Oh well I'm sure he can't be Mr Everything to Everybody at every single show. I am just glad I got to go to the show and that it was awesome. I also got semi-celebrity status among the non-hardcore al fans cuz my wife kept making me show off the tattoo to everyone. So I know a lot of people were snapping pics of it. This one kid was saying about hardcore al fans and he heard there was some weirdo with an al tat and my wife was just beaming pointing at me, 'that's my husband!! Ahh!'

I was glad to finally meet Greg and Alinite. I saw Fred. I got some signatures for the Rock Hall. Al in al a wonderful night!!

I'm sorry you guys did not get a post show meet n greet...but remember, the price of your ticket doesn't mean one is guarenteed...it just means you get to see the show.

I know he's been out more than the last two tours, however, its really more of a bonus and not something that is definite. I never expect one--that way they are more of a pleasant surprise instead of a disappointment when they don't happen.

It doesn't make you any more or less special! :)

Yeah, it's important to remember that. If you let yourself slide into feeling frustrated or angry because a M&G doesn't happen, then basically you've gone and wasted the price of your ticket, because you don't go home thinking what a fun time you had. If you think of the chance to say hi to Al as a gift, you wind up feeling much happier (even if you DON'T have that chance on a particular night) than if you think of it as something you're entitled to.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

The show was excellent. I also noticed that Al seemed a bit tired at first, but that's to be expected. He tries to put the same amount of energy into every single show, but he's only human. He definitely did seem to perk up as the show went on, though. As usual, everything was great. It was interesting to see the video clip during "Bob", as it was really far ahead of Al. I was glad to see WBUL in the setlist, since he cut it out in Columbus. The storm troopers during TSB were cool, and the one furthest to the right hand side of the stage was cracking me up with his dance moves. I loved the added donuts during "Albuquerque", especially the Halle Barry donuts bit. I wanted to see him do the restart bit, but he didn't do it.

And I think the main reason there wasn't a meet and greet was because of venue security. I tried to head out to the buses after the show, but security had the whole back part of the parking lot blocked off, and they wouldn't let anyone back there. And as OE said, meeting Al after a show is certainly not something I expect. I was pleasantly surprised that I got the opportunity after the Kettering show, and I wasn't disappointed that I didn't get to last night. I feel it's like an extra bonus if you do get to meet Al. We're pretty darn lucky Al does as many meet and greets with non-backstage pass people as he does. You don't hear about very many artists doing that.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

I love the legions of canned 'cannot be expecting, yadda yadda' responses when someone posts about their disappointment about not meeting Al.

FYI, it is possible, while not expecting an event like that to occur, to still experience slight feelings of disappointment (not frustration or anger).

I try to be a good fan and I'm not trying to offend anyone. Hell the original responses may have not even been aimed at me but it's just a pain to have to so carefully word everything you say as not not get that annoying speech.

And where the hell were you kevbo? Did I see you? I didn't recognize you if I did.

I think it was more the use of the word special, especially in quotes.

I've waited after plenty of shows and gone home with just a show in my memory. Or, I get home, and find out I was waiting in the wrong place. X*

I think we tend to take for granted just how good Al and the band are to us. Those MnGs are not something they have to do. We are not entitled to them. I have seen fans go from being good, respectable fans to ones that feel they deserve something just for going to multiple shows, and sometimes it gets really ugly.

We waited after the Beverly show and it DID look like Al was coming out. We were even told to line up at one point...and then security came out and shooed us away. I am not sure what happened. Sometimes the guys are tired, or not up to seeing people. I would hate to see this go away because people start expecting it.

I wasn't really aiming anything at you as much as I was just making a blanket statement. I suppose I can't really say I wasn't disappointed, because to be honest, I was. I was hoping to get the chance to meet Al again, and I was aggravated that security thwarted my plans. However, I decided not to let myself get too bummed out about it because it was a great show and I had a great time. I still stand by my original statement that we're lucky that Al does as many meet and greets as he does. Obviously, that tends to spoil us a bit, and we come to expect the meet and greet to always happen. I do it, and I would imagine most of us do. But as Jackie said, we really need to look at the meet and greets as a special bonus. Sometimes it will happen and sometimes it won't. So, it was nothing meant toward you, uwvark. I was just stating how I feel.

I was in Section 103, Row J, Seats 8-10. I only got there 15 minutes before the show due to some departure problems, so I didn't really get to talk to any WOWAYers except Greg.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

Wonderful night...wonderful concert!!!!

Getting the signatures on the petitions was really great because it was advertized so well that we hardly had to mention it! At some points there were lines waiting to sign and we had quite a few clipboards going around!

Concert~~~Awesome!
I had "You're absolutely perfect, don't speak now, you might spoil it!" sung to me during WBYL and I got a nice picture of Al singing to Fred while standing on chairs!

Aftershow was absolutely great! I'm almost always on the outside looking in, but this night I got to be one of the very lucky ones and I will truly cherish the memory!
