I loved Amish Paradise. I thought the original was good as well. However, I felt the 'feud' between Coolio and Al was stupid, mostly on Coolio's part. Big deal, he made a parody. You just sampled Stevie Wonder, so you're even.
Plus, it made VH1's "40 Lamest Hip Hop Moment's." Kinda cool/funny.

I first heard of this song during the 1996 ALTV special (at that time, the only songs I knew of that Al wrote and performed, besides the songs played before the music video, were Eat It, I Lost on Jeapordy, and Lasagna). The Gangstas Paradise music video played, and I speculated on what the parody would be called. I had heard of Gangstas Paradise, but I thought it was called Gangsters Paradise, and figured that "Gangsters Paradise" would be a funny parody title (not realising that "Gangster" and "Gangsta" were pretty much the same thing).
It was really only Coolio who had a problem. Al has nothing agaisnt Coolio. I once saw part of a VH1 list show on celebrity battles, and one of the first ones lsited was "Weird Al Yankovic Vs. Coolio", regarding Amish Paradise. Pretty ridiculous considering that Al never had any anger with Coolio (he even mentioned in an "Ask Al" that he has no beef with Coolio).

THis is my threeyearold sisters favorite song... along with fat. Its realy funny she says it Emmish Peridisse. Oddly enough, she likes the live version better than the Music Vid...
Just the other day my mom was saying "Tom York can sing bakwards... Can AL sing backwards
???" So i showed her amish paridise (again)

"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.
