AAAAAAAUUUUUUUGH!!! :whoot:

Last night was the best. I saw lots of WOWAY members before the show (Elvis, Kristine, maybe WAITPOTO and a lot of others), and talked to OE a little. :) I didn't even know I would be that close! 7th row!

The concert was amazing. I caught a streamer that was shot out (what song was it? Canadian Idiot?) I didn't catch any dollars, but luckily I found one on the ground before the show started. I looked around afterwards, but it was completely picked over. I laughed at all the video clips, even though I'd seen most a million times.

I got myself a W&N Wonderbread shirt, which is awesome. :D And I got LOTS of pictures.

I wish I could go to another one this week, but I don't think that's gonna happen. Even if I could, I'd have to sit in the bleachers. But hey, it might be worth it.

I am back from summer school and I am here to post a review. :D My full day experience will be on a blog on my Myspace soon after this post, but I didn't want to bore you guys with my day at summer school before the night of the concert or about me making brownies at 5am. Without further ado:

I got to the fair around 2pm. The traffic was fine for me, the freeways practically empty, but I was going during the middle of the day. I went with my friend Dylan and her mom Susan. On our way there, we stopped by Taco Bell and right when we went into the car, SOL continue playing (I brought it along, hoping to get it signed) and I'll Sue Ya came on, playing the first line. We starting laughing, especially because her mom was debating whether or not she should get a challupa. You never feel so proud about your Al obsession and friends until your friend, her mom, and herself all sing Al songs together on the way to a concert. It was simply memorable. There were some songs that they hadn't heard, but they laughed through them and we were all had a great time.

We arrived at the Fair, and got wristbands to go on unlimited rides. We were shocked, the lines were huge for the rides! It was at that moment that even though I would regret not seeing other WOWAY members on the weekend dates, I was happy because those lines would have been even bigger. We went on the rides, my bag filled with my copy of SOL and my brownies still with me. We got food a few times during the day, but mostly snacks. At 6:30, her mom went to get some diner while we just ate some French fries.

After we finished, went went on our journey through the fair, into the arena. I then felt upset, I hadn't been on WOWAY the past few days due to summer school and I didn't have any way of telling who I would meet or where I would meet them. On our way there, we saw a place that sold Hawaii Shirts, but I already had my dad's 32 year old one on, and I was proud. When we arrived that the arena after 7pm, the lady told us that we would have to wait until the line of people who waited all day to get the grandstand seats went in. We looked at some bunnies, and then went back once the line moved down.

People started the frantically get seats, while the people who bought their's watched in amazement. You could see kids, adults, old people, and everyone else going in. It was then while we stood off to the side, that I saw Dave and Kevin. Okay, I am a shy person, and I was afraid to say hello to them. I couldn't even believe myself, I went through the trouble of making brownies for WOWAYers, yet I couldn't even say hi to them? And I call myself an actress? Wow. Anyway, we went in and saw out seats. Row N to the far left side, floor 3. I was depressed when I heard we got Row N, but it was surprisingly close, and when you're excited for your first Al concert, it doesn't matter.

We went to check out the merch and I was so happy. I was saving my allowance for months to finally get my White and Nerdy hoodie and my Weird Al is my Homeboy shirt. They didn't have kids sizes in those, so I grabbed a small shirt and a medium hoodie, in case it shrinks or if I go through another growing period. Us 13 year olds  After spending my $70 on merch, I went back to my seat, only to see Dave again.

My friend then went over, and finally I made myself go too. Luckily I posted that picture of me and what I was wearing here yesterday morning because as soon as I said hi to Dave, a bunch of WOWAYers introduced themselves to me!!! I got some pictures and I brought my brownies over and began handing them out. I then saw Kevin and he really does look like Al. For a second, I seriously thought Al was in the audience! I got my nametag (Thanks a bunch Diva!) and I continued shaking hands, handing out brownies and getting pictures. I apologize if you didn't get a brownie, (as I posted before) as soon as I got them, I was rushing to find people and the chanting started. The guards were trying to get people to get away from the stage, so I gave up and went back to my seat.

I pointed out Jim and Steve to Dylan when they came out. Then, after waiting after it was supposed to start because the sun had to go do to see the monitors, Fun Zone starting playing. I started screaming and then the band came out. I'm not good with set lists (or remembering them) and I know that there are a few posted in other concert topics, so I won't go into it, but from my memory of past ones, everything was played. During Canadian Idiot, the streamers fell, but only to the middle. For I'll Sue Ya, I was ready. I told my friend to go up front and take some pictures and when the money falls to grab me some, but to my luck, it all went to my side! I got up and grabbed 4 bills happily and I was laughing with joy as I ran back to my seat. For Wanna B Ur Lovr (which was before ISY but I don't want to get technical here) he didn't go to my side, maybe someone here got a line sung to them.

The Al-TV specials were great, especially since a lot of people in the audience never saw them. I was also happy to see Al appearances on TV and some mentions of Al in shows. It was great! Another cool thing about a concert, is that you feel better singing along to the Yoda Chant live then with Youtube. Anyway, a lot of people left after Fat, so during the encore, we moved up by the stage right near Jim. I sang along and waved my cell phone and then I belted out the lyrics to Albuquerque. There were, as said, a few more items at the donut shows and a few more pet names for Zelda. I even grabbed a hat full of confetti went it blew everywhere. Talk about a souvenir. I even found some CI streamers and I grabbed them too! Everything that fell during the concert, except for the Nirvana water and cup was mine.

After the concert, I said goodbye to the WOWAYers I saw and went off to the side to see if there would be a meet and greet. I cheered Jim and Jon as I saw them come out and they waved at me. Awesome! :D I then saw that security was letting people with backstage passes go out to meet Al and TBitB. I wondered where they got them, unless there was something extra when they said backstage passes on Ticketmaster than what they originally said. We went around under the area where some other people waited, but the guards told us we had to leave and that Al wouldn't be heading back. I knew that I shouldn't have gotten my hopes high, especially because it was a fair event, but it was hard not to, especially since it was my first Al concert and people got to meet him with passes. It kinda killed the buzz, but thinking back on all the fun times I had there, it didn't hurt so much. We left then, her mom getting tired and me knowing that I would have to get up early. Surprisingly, my voice didn't go, even after singing the lyrics loudly to every song, especially Albuquerque. We listened to RWS on the long journey back to my house.

When I got home, I peeled the flip flops off my sore feet, the skinny jeans from my legs and got into my pajamas. I then made that small post before going to bed, getting a few short hours of sleep before waking up for summer school today.

-Well, there you go. I hope the rest of the people have fun at the next few nights and I hope that maybe someone will meet Al. :( Maybe next time for me. Would I do it again? Of course! But do I wish there was one closer to my house and easier to get to? DUH! :P Just to finish it off, it was an unforgettable event and I'm so glad that I met all of you guys there. It was so great to see you, and never again am I making brownies, unless someone here wants them really badly. :)

Aftershow passes cannot be purchased. You have to know someone in the band/crew, or have an "in" with the Fair. Those passes are the only way to get back there. So, don't worry- you didn't miss something at TM.com or anything.

Great review, ALPOTO! I didn't get to meet Al after my first concert, either, so don't feel bad. It will happen. Btw, were you talking about Kevin? I met him at AlCon III, and he really does look a lot like Al. He's a nice guy. I've yet to meet Dave. I've been to two events where he was there, and never introduced myself. So glad you got to see so many people from here.

:D
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Oh geez, yeah I mean Kevin. I'm still extremely tired after getting up early today and the concert day, I'm going to edit it. Thanks about the reviews and I'm glad I didn't miss anything. I hope I do get to meet him so I can tell him that he's such an inspiration to me in so many ways. I will post pictures when I get them. As I said in an earlier post, I couldn't get a digital camera and bring it, so my friend took her camera and the pictures. When she sends them, I'll post immediately, as well as pictures of me in my new Al gear. :D My Myspace blog will be up soon, its just a lot to type. :)

Nice review, Meli! I'm glad you got to meet so many people- aren't Al fans, and WOWAY folks in particular, the best?

You bet, I'm even laughing now that I was nervous to meet them. I'm also happy that everyone liked my brownies, they always taste better when made with Al love, and sleepiness.

The Myspace review is going to have to wait for now. My mom 'accidentally' exited my browser that had 75.27% of the blog already done on it. I'll post it some time, but this should hold everyone over for now.

If you go to youtube.com and type "A wild time with "Weird Al"' you'll get to see the polka :) Apparently it was taped by the OC Register lady or something. But during the song he messes up the lyrics to the "somebody told me you had a girlfriend..." and the way he messes it up it just makes you realize how dumb that song is :P

Yeah, I noticed that too, but I'm not one big on pointing out flaws in concerts. That was really the only mess up in the whole thing. Some other time I believe his microphone was off for a second, but it was quickly turned back on.
