I managed to make it to the show. I bought my ticket at the last minute not knowing if I could make it or not due to being booked to DJ a wedding reception in the afternoon. I found out about Merrillville being an hour behind us so that made a huge difference. I literally took the equipment back to the office, changed clothes, and drove 2 1/2 hours up to the show, sat about 1 minute in my seat (row J Steve's side) then Fun Zone started. I did not miss anything.
Review- (not complete but just highlights from the show)
SPOILER Polkarama started and the crowd seemed fairly enthusiastic but really got into it at the Candy Shop part. I thought the initial reaction was a little weak but the song got a huge applause
Canadian Idiot- Very nice song live. I enjoyed it and loved the confetti streamers. They seemed to be red and white though I thought I read they were red, white and blue.
Close but no Cigar- This song was awesome live! Al really seemed to get into this one and it has become one of my favorites off of SOL. The band sounded awesome and I hope to see this in future set lists.
Bob- I was hoping for WDTAHTM but I thought Bob was lots of fun in concert. Al really does a great Dylan style vocal and the audience's reaction was quite good.
Somewhere around this point did anyone else notice the fire alarm going off briefly during the initial video segments?? I noticed all of the staff of the theater left quickly but returned as it appeared to be a false alarm thankfully.
Pentiums- I love this song live and was pleased to see this in the set list still. Al looked like he was having a lot of fun on stage.
You're Pitiful- This is just great in concert. At first the reaction was slow but whenever Al changed shirts people cracked up especially of course when he got down to the Tutu and Sponge Bob shirt. Just hysterical and his vocals were fantastic.
Medley- Well I did not realize Al has done a new verse for Headline News about Paris Hilton- quite timely and current news. This got a huge reaction when he talked about nobody really caring to hear anymore about it. I was quite surprised. It is probably just me but during Pretty Fly for a Rabbi- did the lyrics change some?? They really seemed different to me somehow. Skipper was very funny and loved the video clips in the background. I love Gump and glad to see it was in the medley.
Yoda- Loved the new Yoda chant and video images. The chant was fantastic and I love the way they keep adding more and more stuff to it. I love this performance especially knowing it was not really the end of the show.
W & N- Wow. Al really can pull this off live. Jim was cracking me up the way he was dancing around the stage. Steve also seemed to be really having fun as well. The stage at the Star Plaza has a large area in front and Al kept riding the Segway in circles while singing. I can't see how he can drive that thing while singing and not running into anything. His rapid fire delivery was perfect.
Fat- The audience seemed to really like this one. Got a nice reaction and I can't believe how even kids who were not even born yet when this one came out were singing along as well. I wonder how Steve and Jim play their guitars while laying on their backs during the I'm the only one who gets a tan part.
Cell Phones- Very funny in person- and quite clever as well!
Albuquerque- I thought this made a great encore and enjoyed every minute of it. The donut part was funny - blueberry donuts etc etc.
I did not stay around for any meet or greets if there was one. I wanted to get back while I was still awake
I am thrilled I was able to make it. I hope he does come closer to Indy. I loved the show and the show went perfectly from what I could tell. I think this was concert #12 for me and the third one at this venue. They seemed to be relaxed on cameras etc. I would love to read other reviews and see if their was a meet and greet.

Yeah, what was up with those fire alarms? Weird. Notice how no one moved? HAHA! Jana and I were in Row F. Thank you Nancy! After the show we used our nifty passes to meet Al!!
Bedubedub, We were standing right by you. I wish I would have known. Hope all is well with your wife and baby. I've been through all kinds of baby scaryness with two different pregnancies. My prayers are with you and your family.

The Show Was fantastic, from Row R! lol
Its amazing how much of the stage you can see from that far back. There really isn't a bad seat in the house
Anyhow, the show pretty much went just like the others.. except the "ho" fell on his way out to Al during Fat... so Al had to throw a few more "ho's" in there until he finally got to him.
the energy was awesome. Except for the duds sitting next to me. the 4 of them left after Fat thinking that was the end of the show. Boy were they wrong. LOL
I loved watching the whole band interact with eachother. And Bermuda wasn't a cymbal-head. I could actually see him!! lol He may have sneaked in a couple of my pictures. Of course from being that far away, he'll be a little fuzzy.
Yes, took pictures of the show, there weren't any camera nazzis...
bdubedub and numbers, it was nice meeting you, I'm glad you introduced yourselves to me.. that was awesome. I hope your wife is ok, bdubedub!! And Alinite, I saw you sitting 5 seats away from me in the aisle, I could never get your attention to turn to look at me... so..
You looked like you were enjoying yourself though
It'll take me a little bit to get all the pictures up.. but I'll let everyone know when I do.
But for now, here is a pic of Me and Al.. and Jim and I

Backstage with Al

with Jim, Outside
Oh yes, I got to give Al a kiss on his cheek through his wet, newly washed hair.. hehe.. Yeah. then give him a big squeeze. then we posed for the pic. I had him sign my Weird Al Show box, but it was pointed out to me by trickykris that I should have had him sign my canadaian money when I went to Winnipeg. Next time.
There was a meet n greet, there were about 250 people

YAY!!
Next show, in 4 days!! Wheeeeeee!
