I'd like to see another song or style parody of an artist or band from 30+ years ago. I think the Eagles is very plausible (more so than the Beatles). Would a "bubblegum" style parody work? Something along the lines of The Archies' "Sugar Sugar" perhaps... An artist that no one has mentioned but was extremely popular is Roy Orbison (assuming Al could find out who has the rights to the music & who to get permission from). The country style parody could be possible (although country is tending towards pop nowadays). Maybe bluegrass, as that's a genre that Al hasn't touched on.
Every time I use my brain I get in trouble.

OOH, Barry Manilow parody, that would be fun!
Cher would be an easy target?
I think the only genre that hasn't been covered is Disco/funk.
I personally would have like to have seen a ABBA parody, but they do get a mention.
Oh and I'm happy to get on the 'unplugged' bandwagon. The stuff on the MTV unplugged parody sounded great. Now if I could get tickets to be in that audience.....

Narelle, you make some interesting points...
As far as an ABBA parody - not saying that there would ever be one - I'm torn between thinking it would be a hilarious idea, and wanting Al to stay away from that... As much as I love Al, I have to admit that my first musical obsession was, in fact, ABBA. (What? I was 13 at the time...) And I still like their music now... Didn't mind the mention in Achy Breaky Song but I'm not sure what I'd think of a full-on parody. The same would go for John Farnham (which I can't see Al ever doing, I don't even know if he's that well-known outside Australia) or Cliff Richard.
Anyway, I'm veering away from the topic at hand, here.
Speaking of 'classic' parodies, what about Jurassic Park? I noticed it hadn't been mentioned, and I thought that was an older song...
