Well, I finally read the mean streets interview. I don't really think Al's statement about free speech was political at all. I don't understand why anyone would think it was. I liked the article. That is kinda sad that Al said he apologizes to Nina everyday. I agree with scottidog. Sure, it was meant to be funny, but he has nothing to apologize for. Sorry it takes me so long to post in these topics. I have to refresh the page to see more recent posts when I come here. Keep the search up for articles, folks!

AL INTERVIEW ON NPR

http://www.npr.org/display_pages/featur ... 04580.html

Happy listening

The interview is 16:40 minutes long and includes parts of some Al (mainly PH) songs. No news really, but still a fun listen.

El

Wow! That was a great interview! The interviewer seemed pretty nice for the most part, and seemed to be a bit of a fan. I didn't really like the comment about Al's music having a certain "shelf life", but other than that, it was a very good interview. Al was, of course, very funny. Was it just me, or did Al's voice sound a little deeper than usual at times?
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

El, that was a very nice interview. And Kevbo, I think you're right. Al's voice did sound deeper. This is a good thing! Makes me wonder if perhaps this interview was done in the morning. Al has said that his voice is naturally deeper then. It sounded wonderful to me! :inlove: Just what I needed to hear. In about 21 hours, I'll be watching Al perform live on stage! I can't wait!

I can't load the file either. Do any transcriptists with the capability of listening to the interview and the initiative to actually transcribe it happen to care to do so?

It's wonderful, El! Thanks for sharing. Al's voice, spoken and singing, is beautiful. And yes, it seems deeper than normal.

I'll be in The Drool Topic if anyone needs me... :inlove:

"Rockin' the Zietgeist" pretty funny line.

Bummer, some of you can't connect to it. Is it a dail-up v. broadband issue?

Something that's worked for me in the past is just upgrading my streaming audio program (real player/media player).

Transcripts are available at the NPR site for $4.95 (but reading isn't nearly as much fun as listening).

I have cable so that definitely isn't an issue and I just updated my audio stuff a few days ago. :(
