They may be able to lessen the effect, but it would give the venue a very 'flat' appearance.
It wasn't always that way. It changed mid-way through the second american leg.

Obviously, you haven't seen some of my earlier killer photos. <_<

We may have talked about this somewhere else, but I do know what you mean. Was there a new lighting system used that was programmed into a computer or the sound board or something like that? Whatever it was, depending on the height of the stage versus the height of the audience, some of those stage lights went toward the audience's eyes--I do remember them hindering photo ops (could probably tell from pictures when it occurred, but off the top of my head I don't recall which songs). But maybe they were also for Al's added protection when going out into the audience during OMM?

Dear Al,

Please put Canadian Idiot in the setlist. Pretty, pretty please.

Hugs,

So I've been thinking (speculating) about the SOL Setlist...

Obviously W&N will be on it, and will be the opener. I think that kind of goes without saying. Yeah, I know that CP was moved from the opening position fairly early in the PH tour, but it was not a really good opener in terms of tempo and such. The polka was a much peppier start. That's not going to be a problem with W&N, it's got much more oomph than CP had. Besides, he'll be riding the Segway so what's not to like?

Oh, and bad news Gals. It breaks my heart to say it, but I think we'll only be seeing the Mighty Silver Suit in our dreams. Why? Well, the song is dated, as is the reference to Puff Daddy, P. Diddy or whatever he's calling himself these days. Plus, and this is probably more to the point, it's too similar in style, pacing and performance to I'll Sue Ya. I just think, with the success of this album, and the new fans that will be coming to the shows on the strenth of SOL, it will be on the setlist. If it is, Pentiums is toast. ;( The only thing that may save Pentiums is the Al Gal Factor. Al might keep it just for us, but I'm guessing he won't because it's on WAY live, where we can drool over it whenever we want. Man, he better come up with a nice droolable costume for ISY. <_<

I also think Melanie is gone. It was probably going to be anyway, but with DICYO it has to go away because the two songs are just too similar. Maybe Al won't feel the need to put on the Taylor Hicks eyebrows and wig for DICYO.

I'm hoping the Al Gal Factor will keep OMM in the setlist. I can live with almost any other song coming out, even Pentiums, if we get to keep OMM.

But what will be the sexy song for SOL Tour? Nothing on the album looks like a contender to me (maybe CBNC, but it doesn't seem quite right) so my guess is that we'll get to keep WBUL. Al had a lot of fun with that one, and it's fun for the audience too.

So, what obscure rabid fan favorite will we get? I love DED, and it would be ok if it stayed in, but with a new tour it might be fun to have him get something else out of the archives for this tour. I'd like to suggest Twine Ball. Or UHF.

Last tour we had Laundry Day as the concert only song. This time, it will no doubt be You're Pitiful. Though if Al were to ask me, I'd prefer to keep Laundry Day, or I'll Repair For You, or even something older and more obscure. Perhaps OOMO. :F

Sorry, Bobbi, but disgust has to kill curiosity for me in this case.

Hey! From what Bermuda could remember, Orgy On My Own wasn't all that disgusting!

I agree that we won't be seeing Melanie or Dog Eat Dog. I wouldn't even begin to guess what oldie gets rotated into its place. I'd love something REALLY old... Midnight Star?

I agree also that the silver suit is gone, gone, gone. You can't put two 'puter geek songs in one show. And, as Scotti pointed out, we can watch it... and pause it...and watch it... on the DVD. I'd like to see WBUL stay, but DICYO offers a lot of the same possibilities. OMM I think will stay in the setlist perennially, just like Fat.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

What's the go with posting setlists here once the tour starts? Is it considered spoilery info?
